Historia
Millions of words of scholarship have been expended on the world's most famous author and his work. And yet a critical part of the puzzle, Shakespeare's library, is a mystery. For four centuries people have searched for it: in mansions, palaces, and libraries; in riverbeds, sheep pens, and partridge coops; and in the corridors of the mind. Yet no trace of the Bard's manuscripts, books, or letters has ever been found.

Dismissed Mary Sidney Herbert without explanation
Revisado: 07-30-19
If the author was looking for the Shakespeare library, he had only to read the book by Robin P. Williams "Sweet Swan of Avon: Did a woman write Shakespeare?" That book includes evidence of the books owned by Mary Sidney Herbert and acquired very near the time when the plays of Shakespeare derived from such books were written. Mary Sidney Herbert was an acclaimed translator and poet. Her brother Phillip Sidney was an author of Sonnets. It is unfortunate that the author pursued other potential authors in great detail but dismissed Mary Sidney Herbert with a brief sentence. Could he not bear the thought that the works of Shakespeare were authored by a woman who used Shakespeare as a front man since she couldn't have published them herself due to her station in society and as a woman? I suggest that he revise his book and give Mary Sidney Herbert serious consideration.

Historia
Called out by Scotland Yard into the teeth of a violent blizzard, Inspector Ian Rutledge finds himself confronted with one of the most savage murders he has ever encountered. Rutledge might have expected such unspeakable carnage on the World War I battlefields, where he’d lost much of his soul - and his sanity - but not in an otherwise peaceful farm kitchen in remote Urskdale. Someone has murdered the Elcott family at their table without the least sign of struggle.

The narration by Chelsea Makela coupled with the writing was so realistic that it was like listening in on a conversation.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Kayla was my favorite because she had so many challenges and choices to consider and make. The choices were real.
Which character – as performed by Chelsea Makela – was your favorite?
Listening to Kayla was so realistic, it was like having a conversation.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
Her choices of how to earn forgiveness from her teacher was my favorite. Believe it or not, I had to make a similar choice at the same age. I thought that I was the only one.

Worst Language Ever
Revisado: 03-05-12
What would have made Will Grayson, Will Grayson better?
The language was so deplorable that I couldn't listen beyond an hour.
What was most disappointing about John Green and David Levithan ’s story?
The language and continual sexual issues - I couldn't even get to the plot!
Any additional comments?
I loved The Fault in Our Stars so I decided on this book by John Green without fully investigating the content or reviews. I am no prude but the language in this book was beyond that heard on teenage rugby fields or ice hockey practices. I only lasted about an hour after listening to more foul language than ever - some that I have never heard.

Historia
Isabel Gillies had a wonderful life -- a handsome, intelligent, loving husband; two glorious toddlers; a beautiful house; the time and place to express all her ebullience and affection and optimism. Suddenly, that life was over. Her husband, Josiah, announced that he was leaving her and their two young sons.

Great until the end..
Revisado: 07-10-09
This book was very realistic and well written - I felt that I have "been there, done that" - In fact, I have. Unfortunately, the story is all too true and it is written so that you feel you are living the story... until the last 20 minutes. I felt like the author didn't really know how to end the story to keep it believable. The author was an excellent narrator which is not often the case with authors. I will look forward to this author's next book.

Historia
Antarctica lends itself to tales of adventure and heartbreak. The landscape is polarized, beautiful and deadly in equal measure. But Alexa doesn't scale mountains or trek to the Pole. Instead, armed with an old cookbook, she attempts to create three-course meals with no electricity or running water and struggles to defrost meat in sub-zero temperatures. Life in a thin nylon tent in the company of scientists, explorers, and eccentrics soon begins to take on extraordinary dimensions.

The international best-selling author of The Professor and the Madman and Krakatoa vividly brings to life the 1906 San Francisco Earthquake that leveled a city symbolic of America's relentless western expansion. Simon Winchester has also fashioned an enthralling and informative informative look at the tumultuous subterranean world that produces earthquakes, the planet's most sudden and destructive force.

Would you rather live in Hurricane Country?
Revisado: 11-18-05
The geology in the book was powerfully described and extremely interesting. As someone who lived in the Bay Area for more than 20 years and experienced the 1989 quake, I found the attitude in this book offensive. A key message of the book -over and over and over again- is that people shouldn't be living near or on the San Andreas fault. Has he considered the probabilities of hurricanes, tornadoes, tsunamis? Where would he have us all live? He showed a complete lack of empathy for those living in the Bay Area in 1906 or 1989.

Historia
By the time James Frey enters a drug and alcohol treatment facility, he has so thoroughly ravaged his body that the doctors are shocked he is still alive. Inside the clinic, he is surrounded by patients as troubled as he: a judge, a mobster, a former world-champion boxer, and a fragile former prostitute. To James, their friendship and advice seem stronger and truer than the clinic's droning dogma of How to Recover.

Need some courage to change your life?
Revisado: 10-21-05
James Frey's story is captivating, gripping, heart-wrenching and honest. In a world where people portray themselves as victims, it was inspiring to meet someone who takes responsibility for his own decisions.
The narration by Oliver Wyman is the BEST that I have ever heard (and I've been listening to audible / recorded books for years).
I read this book as a "kick-off" to motivate me to stop taking a drug prescribed for traumatic stress syndrome several years ago. It helped alot - so far so good. Thanks for telling us your story, James.
