I’m 70 years young this year and remember when doctors were like this author. It’s a time gone for sure. There are good things about the new system for sure, but the personal touch is gone. Good read. I learned some things too.

Surprised, pleased, and surprised again.

I’ve read so many books by now that I’m not surprised very often any more (70 years). But this book was a pleasant one. I could almost put myself in Lou’s shoes. I mourned with her and was angry with her and I cried with her. She’s a girl after my own heart. A must read for those with soft hearts who love history and romance and who dislike bad language and filth. I’ll be exploring this author in the future. ❤️

This is my second Anni Taylor book. I was not disappointed! I am guilty of sneaking away to listen because I was so sucked into the drama. Good job.

This book made me feel ill.

It made me feel ill for my country. Jonathon, as always, overwhelmed with details. He is so thorough with history!! I had a surface knowledge but this left no room for doubt of the roots of our countries currant condition. By the time I got to the last chapter which brings hope, I could almost not stand to listen any longer. Thank you Yeshua for your promises and grace. The narrator was excellent. If you want to know why our country is in the condition it is in, this is the book for you.

I love historical books. And this one is surely historical fiction at its finest. The old grammar, the way people of the day saw life and lived it. It is all so different from today where the whole world is at the fingertips. Loved it!!!

First book I have read by this author. It was great. Maximus gave a new perspective to the Jesus story. The narration was great also. Loved the whole book.

Pleasantly Gross and Sci Fi.

When I say pleasant I mean it was great Sci Fi without filthy language and sexual details. This story sucks you in and builds until you see the full picture. I really liked it and I am hard to please. At first I didn't like the narrators nasal voice but it really grew on me as the story unfolded. She can change enough to give each character "character" and I'm looking forward to hearing her again. Not for children, but great for adults who like a good Sci Fi with fairly clean lines.

Book 3 is awesome.

The narrator did a superb job with Granddad. Sakes Alive, it's is a good series. Can't wait to start the next book. My husband and I listen to a segment every night before bed. Great way to wind down for the night.
