Historia
From trips on private jets and encounters with world leaders to shocking accounts of misogyny and double standards behind the scenes, this searing memoir exposes both the personal and the political fallout when unfettered power and a rotten company culture take hold. In a gripping and often absurd narrative where a few people carelessly hold the world in their hands, this eye-opening memoir reveals what really goes on among the global elite.

Amazing stories told right
Revisado: 12-14-24
Dion shares many life lessons he learned throughout his amazing life in a laid back, comfortable way. Almost like he’s talking to you. He also reflects on his faith, his Christian worldview, and other topics that really cause the listener to look at their own inner self.

Historia
Roger Stringer grew up in rural Mississippi, hunting and eating everything from deer to rabbits. When he had two sons, Zac and Justin, he gave them guns and took them to the woods as well. Then one day when the boys were home alone, he got a call from Zac that Justin had been shot. What follows is an intimate and gripping memoir about the shooting’s aftermath. The story moves between the perspectives of Roger and Zac as they take us through their journey of betrayal, redemption, and ultimately confrontation with a company that had kept its corruption a secret for decades.

Heartbreaking
Revisado: 09-08-24
Such a heartbreaking story in so many ways. Another story of corporate greed and how insanely difficult it is to keep big companies accountable. Even after all the loss there is some redemption in the end through the forgiveness of the two authors

"I'll never forget that night. It was like a romance novel, an old Broadway musical, and a John Wayne western rolled into one. Out for a quick drink with friends, I wasn't looking to meet anyone, let alone a tall, rugged cowboy who lived on a cattle ranch miles away from my cultured, corporate hometown. But before I knew it, I'd been struck with a lightning bolt... and I was completely powerless to stop it."

Historia
One of the greatest examples of war journalism ever written, Michael Herr's clearheaded yet unsparing retellings of the day-to-day events in Vietnam take on the force of poetry, finding clarity in one of the most incomprehensible events in our modern era. A National Book Critics Circle finalist and highly acclaimed upon its first publication, Dispatches still retains its resonance as America finds itself amidst another military quagmire.

Good but not great
Revisado: 02-09-15
Good story but a little far fetched in terms of what the dog felt. I love dogs but writer wrote as if he interviewed a dog to understand what it was thinking and feeling.
