Love this book!
Revisado: 06-20-16
At first I was a bit unsure of this book because I thought it was a book about 18th century Scotland but then it just took off and I couldn't put it down. My only negative to the book was that the recording was poor. You could hear background noises and even sometimes coughing. It was a bit disruptive the performer was excellent though with good use of the different voices.

Loved the story but the narration is a bit poor
Revisado: 02-26-15
The story is kind of like a Nora Roberts love story where it leads up to the plot with little romance in the beginning. I think the story would have been much better is the narrator didn't sound like he was having challenges speaking. He made the females sound stupid and whiney.

Another shockingly suspenseful installment in #1 New York Times best-selling author Karen Marie Moning's Fever series. Burned picks up right where the surprising conclusion of Iced left off, and will feature beloved characters Mac and Dani O'Malley as they embark on another high-octane adventure in the Fever world.

It’s where his sister, Branna, lives and works, where his cousin, Iona, has found true love, and where his childhood friends form a circle that can’t be broken. A circle that is about to be stretched out of shape - by a long-awaited kiss. Meara Quinn is Branna’s best friend, a sister in all but blood. Her and Connor’s paths cross almost daily, as Connor takes tourists on hawk walks and Meara guides them on horseback across the lush countryside.

Loved the book, but not the narrator
Revisado: 04-22-14
Would you consider the audio edition of Shadow Spell to be better than the print version?
Not sure as I really struggled with this narrator. Preferred Katherine who narrated the 1st book.
What other book might you compare Shadow Spell to and why?
similar to some of the Karen Marie Moning books with the mythical world and Ireland.
Did the narration match the pace of the story?
No. This was my biggest disappointment. While the concept of an Irish narrator was good it wasn't well played out. He wasn't able to distinguish between the characters and his ability to do a female voice and/or an American accent was aweful! Please go back to the narrator from book 1 for book 3.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
I also love the 75% mark on any Nora Roberts book. It's the point when the love characters finally realize their love and the rest just plays itself out.
Any additional comments?
I'm looking forward to book 3, but please consider a different narrator. If you have this same one, then I may just have to read it instead.

Historia
With indifferent parents, Iona Sheehan grew up craving devotion and acceptance. From her maternal grandmother, she learned where to find both: a land of lush forests, dazzling lakes, and centuries-old legends. Ireland. County Mayo, to be exact. Where her ancestors’ blood and magic have flowed through generations - and where her destiny awaits. Iona arrives in Ireland with nothing but her Nan’s directions, an unfailingly optimistic attitude, and an innate talent with horses.

Yes. Katherine Kellgren was an actor and distinguished the voices so well that I became entrenched in the story.
