Historia
Two astronomers have detected a strange, pulsing signal from deep space. Within hours, the US government goes into lockdown, restricting airspace and scrubbing scientific data. Was the signal an intercepted communication revealing alarming plans for an enemy’s military strike? Or has humanity at long last found proof of extraterrestrial life?

There's a reason it's free
Revisado: 04-13-25
Characters, story, and most of all, dialog is completely unrealistic. When I was young (into 20s) I didn't know what's realistic and what's not, but decades of life have passed and frankly real life is far more engaging and captivating than this. Can't make myself continue. It's like it's for pre-teens.

Forgettable Fast Food Fiction
Revisado: 04-04-25
East Kabum, Arkansas. An all-American little league white boy* and his childhood sweetheart (last name "Heart") are chosen to one day become heros of the Aliens. Assuming the author is from East Kabum, and that explains a lot. *Author doesn't say they're white, but he doesn't say anything about any of the characters at all. There is incredibly little description of the characters, or aliens. What do they look like?? What color hair, eyes? Ethnicity? Cultural heritage? Nada. We get nothing. It's so devoid of any substance or depth... Like a Happy Meal. It will keep you quelled and help you escape your reality for a while, But no nutritional value, and you might feel a bit ashamed of yourself after.

Historia
Dr. Tyson Klein is a quantum physicist who has dedicated his entire life to his research. At CERN, he analyses data generated by the Large Hadron Collider, the world's biggest and most powerful particle accelerator. Now, Ty believes he's found a pattern in its output. It looks like an organised data stream, being broadcast over what he calls a quantum radio. Could it be a signal from another universe? A message sent from the future? Or something else entirely?

Not much to it. Kinda like fast food in book form. And the female voices... Yikes.
Revisado: 01-18-25
First of all, I really don't like hearing grown men read female parts in falsetto. Second, although the characters are older, this qualifies as a Teen Novel. Very shallow, trite characters, Guy raised without a father, driven to academic success as a result. Woman on methadone trying to kick her addiction (Lost?). Some military-ish guy (someone always needed who can do the killing), and the high school crush of the dadless-dude, reunited. Pretty much fast food. Smells good, cheap and easy, accessible to all education levels, but no nutritional value. Can't unread it. Ah well.

Historia
Set in an addicts' halfway house and a tennis academy, and featuring the most endearingly screwed-up family to come along in recent fiction, Infinite Jest explores essential questions about what entertainment is and why it has come to so dominate our lives; about how our desire for entertainment affects our need to connect with other people; and about what the pleasures we choose say about who we are.

My IQ is above 140. And this book is not a challenge to understand. Not at all. But it's satire. And the joke is on the READER who is suckered into believing it's anything but a waste of time.

Historia
If you fell in love with Melanie in the million-copy-selling post-apocalyptic phenomenon The Girl With All the Gifts - there's more to the story... Once upon a time, in a land blighted by terror, there was a very clever boy. The people thought the boy could save them, so they opened their gates and sent him out into the world. To where the monsters lived.

Zombies. Soldiers. A pregnant, female research scientist. A celebration of stereotypes.
Revisado: 07-07-24
This book was written without creating anything new. It's like a painter, with her pallete full of vibrant colors, simply dividing the canvas into thirds, paining one solid red, one solid yellow, and the last one, solid blue. For many people, this is the perfect story. One that parallels their own observations, thereby meeting their expectations, each character sticking to the script. To me, it's just another McWriter's Happy Novel, complete with a non edible chunk of plastic labeled "toy." There's no denying the mass appeal of fast food. To my tastes, however, it's not food fit for consumption.

But I'm a man. It was educational to accidentally stumble upon a title written to appeal to those with an XX. I'm not criticizing, rather I'm saying I found it beneficial.. A way for this XY to understand a little more how wildly different I am from those who would find this story anything other than silly, It's silly to me, but that doesn't make it silly to you, and I can respect that,

Historia
Humanity is a dying breed, utterly reliant on artificial labor and service. When a domesticated robot gets a nasty little idea downloaded into its core programming, they murder their owner. The robot discovers they can also do something else they never did before: They can run away. Fleeing the household they enter a wider world they never knew existed, where the age-old hierarchy of humans at the top is disintegrating into ruins and an entire robot ecosystem devoted to human wellbeing is having to find a new purpose.

Revisado: 07-01-24
The diehard fans will exercise there right to broadcast their beliefs and, whilst doing so, also their limits of cognition and fear of having their fragile world model toppled by a careless sigh. (Exhale.) And there it is. R. A. S., I suppose it could have been worse... The title I mean. It's a guess, but most of your readers are likely westerners, and so your choice was less likely to be labeled heresy and blasphemous, or at best, merely presumptuous by way of ignorance. (For the sake of inclusion, I'm suggesting to the author that it was a good thing he didn't choose a title like "The [Bible, New New Testament, Quran, Torah, Gospel etc.] of Drizzt." because currently, most of his readers don't understand how embarrassingly presumptuous the title truly is.)

No reason to care what happens next.
Revisado: 04-22-23
Some exciting, edgy, sexy and/or mysterious renegades compete for the chance of a lifetime and embark upon the greatest space adventure of all time. *
* I'm lying. Here's reality:
Some ordinary, uninspiring, and frankly boring people go into space and nothing new, exciting, or even interesting ever happens.
Suarez made a name for himself because his first novel was, in fact, *novel*.
But this book has nothing to offer an avid reader.
Last, I absolutely have lost faith in the validity of the audible rating and reviews system. I don't believe this review will be approved. Why? Because it discourages sales and ultimately hurts revenue. And because whoever is reviewing this isn't willing to risk their job. I probably wouldn't either, so no worries.

The Ministry for the Future is a masterpiece of the imagination, using fictional eyewitness accounts to tell the story of how climate change will affect us all. Its setting is not a desolate, post-apocalyptic world, but a future that is almost upon us - and in which we might just overcome the extraordinary challenges we face.

Sorry, It doesn't work.
Revisado: 04-05-23
When authors set out to use their celebrity to do some good for the world.. It doesn't work.
Sure, you'll hear everyone singing praises for the author and her book... Because nobody is willing to get hashtagged for telling the truth :
This is not a good book.
Not in any sense.
It lacks character development.
It lacks plot.
It's definitely not a novel, nor something that will ever see the silver screen, as it doesn't even tell a coherent story.
What is it then? Some kind of future history narrative, like a really really long Wikipedia page detailing the climate disaster and how the world responded.
I'm sorry, but I'm returning this for a credit to spend on a book that is either entertaining or educational. This one is neither.

Revisado: 04-04-23
No mystery.. Nothing to anticipate.
Just a kind of journal of mundane events. Oh, and by the way, did you know there are services advertising on the internet just a search away that provide "a guaranteed boost to your audible rating and sales"? Please don't prohibit my review for revealing an an inconvenient truth. People need to look out for one another and remember that corporations are made of people. It's all up to us.
