I loved the narrator and hearing about Asian culture. Had to relisten to the first couple chapters after I finished the book just to better understand the characters. Great read though!

Historia
It was one of the most searing images of the twentieth century: two young boys, two princes, walking behind their mother’s coffin as the world watched in sorrow—and horror. As Princess Diana was laid to rest, billions wondered what Prince William and Prince Harry must be thinking and feeling—and how their lives would play out from that point on.

This book gave me an insight on royal life that I never even considered. They really are stuck in a fishbowl unable to do any of the things civilians unknowingly take for granted. I applaud Prince Harry and Meghan for choosing to make the hard decision to step away from Britain. No one deserves to be put in harms way. Those British tabloids and paparazzi should be ashamed of themselves! I loved that he shared his story. I have always been a fan and I love he and Meghan so much more after this read.

Beautiful Story

Loved the narration and how the author didn't make the main character out to be a saint. Exposing her flaws made the story much more authentic and relatable. Finished the book feeling warm and fuzzy inside.

Quinn keeps lists of everything - from the days she’s ugly cried, to “Things That I Would Never Admit Out Loud” and all the boys she’d like to kiss. Her lists keep her sane. By writing her fears on paper, she never has to face them in real life. That is, until her journal goes missing....

Finally felt seen in a Novel
Revisado: 07-08-21
This is a cute story about a rich little black girl in Texas about to graduate from high school taking place in present time. She was 1 of about 5 black kids at her school and like so many of us who grew up used to being the minority in the room, the novel dives into assimilation and stereotypes in a light-hearted self-discovery kind of way. 20 years after high school, I still remember the comments of what white kids THOUGHT were compliments that were actually huge insults to the entire black community. But as a kid I was too naive to understand. Wish I could have had stories like this to read when I was a kid.
Loved the book so much I had to DM the author and congratulate her 🥰

A pure JOY to listen too over this weekend!
Revisado: 08-09-20
Dealing with my own "mean girl" in life, it was so great that this novel started off with a character dealing with a situation I could immediately relate to. I fell in love with the complexity of the main characters and enjoyed the gut checks throughout the story. It's always fun when I hear myself arguing for the main character and then turning around and arguing at her LOL. Loved the learning journey Katherine Centers novels take you on and Therese Plummer's performances never disappoint me!
In the end, this story made me download and replay George Michael's Freedom (challenging my husband not to dance or sing) and show empathy for the unknown battle my personal mean girl is dealing with. So grateful for her art of storytelling!

In her hit Netflix comedy special Baby Cobra, an eight-month pregnant Ali Wong resonated so strongly that she even became a popular Halloween costume. Wong told the world her remarkably unfiltered thoughts on marriage, sex, Asian culture, working women, and why you never see new mom comics on stage but you sure see plenty of new dads.
