Dragon Prince Finds Love with One of a Kind Woman
Revisado: 06-30-15
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Absolutely recommend this audiobook. I have loved this series since I started reading it. This one is a "prequel" to the first book in the Dragon Lord's series. I was impressed the first time I met Queen Mede and this story gave me a new appreciation for her as a queen and mother.
What other book might you compare The Dragon's Queen to and why?
I am not sure what books I could compare The Dragon's Queen to except the other books in the series. Mede doesn't want to be a wife and especially not a mother. She wants to be a member of the Order of the Dead Dragons.
Which scene was your favorite?
I loved when Lyr comes to save Mede from Prince Attor and she ends up turning into the dragon from their legends...a dragon with wings that allows them to fly and can breathe fire. Lyr finally admits that Mede makes his crystal glow and she admits that she wants him as her husband.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes, it is a great story and is very well narrated. Mason Lloyd does a wonderful narration that sucks you into the story.
Any additional comments?
The first time I met Queen Mede in the Barbarian Prince I was amazed at how poised and understanding she was with the all the brides. This book gave me a whole new view of Mede. She was a rebel in her youth and felt she had to prove to everyone that she was just as good, if not better, than the guys. Prince Llyr is so patient with her once he finally gets to meet her. Even though he lies to her about his crystal, you still can't help but love him because he will do anything for Mede.
This book really sets up the relationship between the Draig and Var for the other books. Attor didn't seem to care about what the Draig were doing since he had his own issues with his father, the Var King. Attor never notices how he is manipulated by Myrddin since Myrddin makes it appear as if it's Attor's ideas.

Riona Grey lives life on her own terms, traveling wherever the next spaceship is flying and doing what she must in order to get by. When her luck turns sour, she finds herself on a bridal ship heading to a marriage ceremony. A planet full of dragon shifters seeking mates wasn’t exactly what she had in mind as a final destination.

A Love Worth Waiting For
Revisado: 05-28-15
What did you love best about The Impatient Lord?
I loved how dedicated Lord Mirek is to Riona while she is in a coma and after she awakens. Mirek fell in love with her the minute he sees her and find his crystal glowing. That love shows in how he does everything he can while she is sleeping.
What did you like best about this story?
Watching how Riona discovers her love for Mirek and overcome her fear of loving someone. She is so so afraid to love and doesn't want to rely on anyone because bad things always happened when she does.
Which scene was your favorite?
My favorite scene was when Riona negotiated with the Lithorian dignitary. It was so funny to hear Mirek's reaction when she declared peace with them and did away with all the formalities so that the negotiations for the Lithorian chocolate was so fast and smooth.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
A love worth waiting for
Any additional comments?
The eighth book in the Dragon Lords series is a wonderful conclusion for the Royal family and their kin.
Riona Grey is a gambler. She tries to live her life to the fullest and isn't afraid of taking chances. She feels she must do this because she and her sister are the last of their kind. After her sister interrupts her during the final hand of a game (which she loses), Riona must find a way off the station immediately since she cannot cover the debt and her sister needs her help in getting the the planet of Qurilixian to stop a genocide. After ditching the Federation ship her sister came on, Riona signs them both up with Galaxy Brides since that is the only ship that she can find that is going there. Riona has no intention of being a bride and slips off of the ship before the Breeding Festival begins. Little does she know that trying to avoid the Gods will doesn't stop her from finding a husband.
Lord Mirek is not looking forward to this year's Breeding Festival. He has had so many failed attempts at finding his bride that he has lost hope. The little hope he has is shattered when his crystal doesn't glow. He stays the night on a cliff overlooking the festival grounds morning another unsuccessful festival. The following morning he packs up his camp site and heading down the cliff. As he gets to the bottom, he hears the faint sound of footsteps and decides to follow the sound. He comes upon Riona as she is spying on her sister and instantly feels a connection to her. He cannot believe his luck and doesn't give her a chance to refuse him. He convinces Riona to break his crystal but she cuts herself when it shatters. She starts feeling ill and tries to run while Mirek goes to get her a drink but ends up falling into the "yellow" which puts her into a sleep that she cannot awaken from.
It takes almost a year for Riona to awaken from the sleep. Mirek does everything he can to keep her comfortable and taken care of until she awakens. He is so dedicated to her the entire time she is asleep. Riona has a hard time adjusting to her new life and the changes she sees in her sister. Mirek is there for her the entire time and does everything he can to make her adjustment easier.
This was a wonderful conclusion to a great series. I have completely enjoyed listening to the entire series and would highly recommend this.

Repossession finds love with a dragon
Revisado: 04-27-15
If you could sum up The Stubborn Lord in three words, what would they be?
I would sum it up with Honor, Selflessness, and Determination. Alek acts very honorably throughout the story. He is very selfless when it comes to Kendall and her needs. Kendall's determination to fulfill her responsibilities to her family.
What did you like best about this story?
I loved that Alek was willing to let Kendall leave to make her happy. He was willing to put her needs first before his own.
Which character – as performed by Mason Lloyd – was your favorite?
Mason did such a great performance of Alek. He really brings Alek to life as I listened.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
I did listen to this book all in one sitting. It's a wonderful story...short enough that you can finish it in one day but long enough that you get sucked into the story.
Any additional comments?
Kendall Haven has been repossessed because her father gambled her and lost. She wakes up on the Galaxy Brides ship heading to Qurilixian to participate in the Draig Bridal Festival. Kendall only wants to get back to the fueling station her father owns since she has a little sister she must take care of. Once the ship lands, Kendall sneaks off the ship and runs into the forest so she can try to find another ship that will take her back.
Lord Aleksej, Younger Duke of Draig, is not looking forward to another Bridal Festival. This is his fourth festival and he believes it will be another unsuccessful year. He has lived honorably but is losing faith that he will ever find a wife. Instead of going into the temple before the ceremony, Alek takes a walk into the forest. He rips his crystal from around his neck so he can leave it in the forest but is shocked when his crystal suddenly begins to glow. He tracks Kendall down and talks her into her going to his tent while he goes back to the festival.
While in the tent with Alek, some of the Galaxy Brides people come looking for Kendall since she wasn't part of the bridal procession. Alek explains to them that Kendall is his wife and is able to get the tracking device from them. He convinces Kendall to complete the ceremony the next morning. Kendall is still determined to go back to the fueling station.
Will Alek ever let Kendall go? What does Kendall find when she gets back to the fueling station? Guess you will have to listen this to find out.
This is a wonderful continuation of the Dragon Lords series. I loved this story about Kendall and Alek. He is so tender and loving with her throughout the story even though he knows he will be alone the rest of his very long life if she ever does leave. I cannot wait to see what happens with the next brother in series.

Witches and Deamons and Vampires, oh my
Revisado: 04-11-15
What made the experience of listening to A Discovery of Witches the most enjoyable?
Jennifer Ikeda did such a wonderful job in narrating this book. She really brought each character to life by doing different voices so you could always tell who was speaking. The story sucks you in from the very beginning and the narration adds so much to this.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Matthew is my favorite character. He fights his nature to protect Diana after unknowingly mating with her.
Have you listened to any of Jennifer Ikeda’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
This is the first book of hers I have listened to. I enjoyed it so much that I have gotten others that are narrated by her. This series is by far my favorite that she has narrated.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
I cried when Diana was kidnapped and tortured by Satu Jarvinen then left in the oubliette.
Any additional comments?
What an amazing story of witches, daemons and vampires.
Diana Bishop is a Professor of History along with being a witch that refuses to use her magic...unless it's an emergency. She is doing research in Oxford's Bodleian Library for a paper for an address she will be giving about ancient alchemy manuscripts. She unknowingly calls up Ashmole 782, a manuscript that has been missing for over 150 years. It's a manuscript that every witch, daemon and vampire has been looking for ever since it went missing. After finishing her assessment, she sends the manuscript back to the stacks. While using her magic (just this once) to get a book down that is high up on a shelf, she meets Matthew Clairmont. Professor Clairmont is a vampire who decides to visit Bodleian's after hearing about an American witch that has found the missing manuscript.

Aeron wants nothing more than to continue to live out her very long, solitary life in a small metal room listening to communications for the Federation Military. It's not glamorous. It's not even charming. But it's safe. There's no chance of getting hurt. When she intercepts a communication about the impending genocide of the Qurilixian people, she has no choice but to act. No one at the Federation seems inclined to do anything about the threat and suddenly it's up to her to save a whole planet.

Finding love while trying to prevent genocide
Revisado: 04-11-15
Where does His Highness The Duke rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
I love the Dragon Lords series by Michelle M Pillow. This book just adds to the story of the Draig. It's hard to rank it when the whole series is so good.
What was one of the most memorable moments of His Highness The Duke?
When Queen Mede explains to Aeron about the Draig marriages. She has to much patience with Aeron and takes the time to welcome her to the family.
Have you listened to any of Melissa Barr’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
This is the first book I have listened to that was narrated by Melissa Barr. The way she narrated made you want to keep listening to see what happens next.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
Aeron explaining to Bron about how her home world was destroyed and why it was so important to her to do whatever necessary to prevent that from happening to another planet.
Any additional comments?
This is the fifth book in the Dragon Lords series. I really enjoyed reading this book. The characters were very interesting and full of life. It's a wonderful book about a person who cares enough about others and is willing to do whatever needed to prevent another tragedy. I can't wait to read the next one in the series.
Aeron is a civilian analyst for the Federation. She intercepts a communications transmission about a possible genocide attack of the planet of Qurilixen. When the Federation does nothing about it because Qurilixen is not part of the Federation, Aeron decides she has to do something. Unfortunately, the inhabitants of Qurilixen don't allow many ships to land on their planet. She steals a ship and head to place her sister, Riona, is to ask for help in getting the info to the inhabitants. Aeron interrupts Riona just as the dice is thrown in a game causing Riona to lose the game. Riona's solution to getting to Qurilixen is by signing up with Galaxy Brides to be part of the Draig Breeding Festival.
Lord Bronislaw, the High Duke of Draig, is not looking forward to the Breeding Festival. It's his seventh year of attending but it's his duty to attend since his royal cousins are attending for the first time. Bron just knows he is not going to find his bride again and doesn't pay attention to the brides as they walk past. He is shocked when his crystal lights up and he realizes he missed her. After the other grooms collect their brides, he walks past all the other brides to figure out which one is his. He finally stops in from on Aeron. It takes convincing to get her to go with him. Things don't go as planned once they reach the tent. She is obsessed with getting to the King to tell him of the planned attack and tells Bron over and over that is the only reason she is there. Bron tricks her into taking off his mask and that's when things really get out of hand. They end up consummating their marriage when it is forbidden. Bron leaves her in the tent by herself all night to atone for his sins.
The following morning he must present her in front of the council as his wife. She becomes obsessed with the crystal when he gives it to her to break. The King and Queen are very upset about the way Aeron reacts to the crystal. Bron has to take it away from her, pick her up then drop her on the crystal to get it to break. Once broken, Aeron remembers why she is there and tries to tell the King while denying she is married. When Aeron doesn't shut up about it, the King drugs her and orders Bron to take her to the hunting cabin so he has time to get his marriage in order.
Aeron awakens during the trip to the cabin. She is adamant that she is not married to Bron. While there, Bron disappears. She starts heading down the mountain and runs into his brother, Alek, and his new wife, Kendall. After Alek finds Bron in an ancient dungeon, Bron takes Aeron back to the castle so he can talk with the King about the possible attack. King Llyr tells him to look into it and take his bride home. They reach Bron's home and find that his brother, Mirek, has married Riona who is in a coma.
How will Bron get Aeron to accept their marriage? You will need to listen to this to find out.

Loved the story but the narration was choppy
Revisado: 03-26-15
If you could sum up Warrior Prince in three words, what would they be?
Wonderful Love Story
What did you like best about this story?
I loved the story about Pia and Prince Zoran. Pia was burned over 60% of her body. After extensive surgeries, she doesn't recognize the face staring back at her. She never expects someone to choose her. Pia has a tough journey from being a shy, scarred woman into the beautiful and confident woman she becomes.
Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Sarah Van Sweden?
I would love to hear Jennifer Ikeda narrate the book. She really brings the characters to life and the flow of the story is very fluid. Sarah Van Sweden's narration is very choppy and hard to listen to.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
Captain of the Guard finds love with an assassin
Any additional comments?
Pia the assassin, is in trouble. She needs to disappear after she finds out that the man she just killed is the mayor's son. That is very difficult for her since she is scarred over 60% of her body. The only way she knows to get a new face when she can't afford one is to contract with Galaxy Brides. They agree that they can help her but she must sign an exclusive contract with them until she is married. After two weeks of endless surgeries, she is on her way to Qurilixen with a ship load of other potential brides to attend the Draig Breeding Festival. She doesn't think anyone would ever pick her since she still sees herself as scarred and ugly.
Prince Zoran is immediately taken with her beauty and is so happy that she was the one that made his crystal glow. Pia thinks that no one as good looking as Zoran could possibly have any interest in her and is upset with him when he takes her to his tent. She keeps expecting his friends to jump out laughing since he picked "the ugly girl". Zoran is so confused about why she is refusing him and takes offense every time he tells her how beautiful she is. He has to force her hands to remove the mask so they can freely speak and finds out that she must marry whoever chooses her because of her contract. He uses this against her to make her stay and complete the ceremony. Once they get back to his house, she cuts her hair off even though he told her not to since it was considered a "disfigurement" and done only as a way to punish a woman.
Pia has a hard time adjusting to life with Zoran. She really believes he married her as a joke and constantly tells him she wants a divorce. This really upsets Zoran to the point that he goes back to training the soldiers the next day instead of taking time to get to know her better. Pia is left in the house by herself for the next few days which just makes her more upset with him. She finally breaks out of the house and goes to the training grounds. Little does she know that Zoran is the Captain of the Guard and is over all the soldiers. Pia engages the soldiers in a little competition until Zoran shows up...and boy do the sparks fly then.
Eventually, Pia and Zoran start getting to know each other and smooth some things out. But Zoran doesn't realize that keeping things about what is going on makes Pia feel like he doesn't trust her. How will they ever make their marriage work? Guess you will have to listen to find out.
I do love the story. I would have enjoyed it more if it was narrated more fluidly.

The Pirate and the Dragon Prince
Revisado: 03-14-15
What made the experience of listening to Dark Prince: Dragon Lords Anniversary Edition the most enjoyable?
This is a wonderful story about a woman who lived by the Pirate's Code and finds love in the most unusual place. Olena's ship is shot down and she is close to being captured. She escapes by signing up to be a Galaxy Bride heading to the planet of Qurilixen and the Breeding Festival. She is the first bride to walk off the ship and Yusef can't help but be enchanted. He would have taken her even if his crystal didn't glow. Olena accepts Yusef as her husband even though she never plans to stay. She refuses to tell him her name in the beginning, fights him to the point of drawing blood and ends up in chastisement. During her chastisement, the King and Queen hold a banquet to introduce the princesses to the kingdom. However, Olena is left at home tied to the bed. She is kidnapped by the Var and Yusef is stabbed in the back. He is injured so badly that he is in a coma. Olena is rescued by the King and other princes. She stays by him in the hospital and gets to finally wake up. When the final battle with Nadja's father comes, she has to decide who she will be loyal to.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Prince Yusef is my favorite character. He is so patient and loving with Olena even though she does everything she can to scare him off. His obsession with her when he first sees her then his love for her as he gets to know her is obvious to everyone but Olena.
Which scene was your favorite?
My favorite scene was when Olena first gets to the medical ward in the palace and refuses to leave Yusef's side until he awakens. She is willing to try just about anything to get him to wake up from his coma.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Mafia Boss daughter finds love with Dragon Prince
Revisado: 03-02-15
Would you listen to Perfect Prince: Dragon Lords Anniversary Edition again? Why?
Love the Anniversary Edition of this book! This is the story about Nadja and Prince Olek. Nadja is the daughter of one of the Medical Mafia doctors who was about to be forced into a marriage. She escapes the night of her engagement party and finds the quickest transport off the planet is by signing up with Galaxy Brides. She arrives on the planet of Qurilixen the night of the Breeding Festival which is where she sees Prince Olek for the first time. Nadja tells him she is only willing to complete the marriage if he is a working man...not one of the Princes that were said to be attending the festival. She is furious once she realizes he is one of the princes. Prince Olek has an up hill battle to wage since Nadja doesn't understand why he would say he works when he is a prince. He uses every ounce of the diplomacy he has learned from being the Draig Ambassador to get her to finally accept him. Just as Nadja finally accepts Prince Olek her father arrives and tries to take her away. Nadja will need to take drastic measures in order to keep Olek and the rest of the planet safe from her father. The changes from the original book are very well done and enhance the story. Thank you Michelle M Pillow for a wonderful series. I can't wait to see what you do next.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Perfect Prince: Dragon Lords Anniversary Edition?
I loved when Nadja went out to explore the town and found a number of plants to do experiments with. She was so friendly with the children that were following her that they ended up helping her with gathering the plant samples and getting them back to the castle. She was so kind to everyone she met and was willing to help someone who was hurt. I loved how word got around and people ended up coming to the castle to request her to heal them. She was so gracious with them and accepted whatever payment they could give.
What about Libby Hudson’s performance did you like?
Libby Hudson has a wonderful voice for storytelling. She was really able to bring the characters to life.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
When Nadja goes to meet her father once she realizes he is on the planet. She has some very tough decisions to make to keep the people on the planet safe.

Going undercover at a mass wedding as a bartered bride, Morrigan Blake has every intention of getting off the barbaric planet just as soon as it's over. Or, more correctly, just as soon as she captures footage of the mysterious princes rumored to be in attendance. After a euphoric night, Morrigan discovers her spaceship left without her, and Ualan of Draig is claiming she's his wife. It's not exactly the story this reporter had in mind.

What made the experience of listening to Barbarian Prince the most enjoyable?
I wasn't sure how I would like listening to a romance novel narrated by a man. I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed Mason Lloyd's narration. His voice really brought the story to life.
Morrigan is a reporter that is set on getting a story about the Breeding Festival on Qurilixian. She signs up for Galaxy Brides since that is the only way she can get on the planet never expecting to be chosen as a bride. Prince Ualan has no idea what is in store for him when his crystal starts pulsing for Morrigan. Instead of being the princess she is now, she indentures herself by saying the first thing that comes out of her mouth. Prince Ualan's patience is tested multiple times as he gets to know and fall in love his new wife.
I loved the original and loved the Anniversary edition even more.
What did you like best about this story?
The struggle for Prince Ualan to get Morrigan to admit she was his wife and to love him back. I loved it when the brides get together to complain about their husbands...which we have all done at one time or another, only to have their mother-in-law, Queen Mede, arrive to help them get their men.
Have you listened to any of Mason Lloyd’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
This is the first audio book that I have listened to. He is a wonderful narrator and I look forward to hearing more books read by him.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
I didn't feel the need to listen to this all in one sitting because I had read the book before. I did take a few days to listen to it. I believe it would have been one that I would have listened to in one sitting if I hadn't read it prior.
