But when Oliver breaks into the place to explore his new treasure, he finds himself lost in a maze of confusion and spatial anomaly. After losing his job and getting kicked out of his friend's house, Oliver just wants a place to build a new life, but this house wasn't constructed using the physical laws we all take for granted.

I've loved CDM's work for a few years now and I've read everything he's published. Housequake is a welcome edition to the ever building, Angel Hill saga. This author just has a unique style that's all his own. More Angel Hill couldn't hurt, Mr. Moore. I've also listened to a lot of Curt Campbell's audio work. I really like this narrator. He's someone I can listen to for long periods. I like his voice distinction for the different characters. Some other reviews suggested that the narration on Housequake has an echo. I really couldn't hear any echo. Print or audio. I recommend either or both. If you haven't taken steps to do so already, I'd certainly find out more about C. Dennis Moore.

Burn-scarred and already something of a legendary small-time criminal, Mike Menger was last seen at the end of David Bain's crime/horror novel Gray Lake, driving headlong out of Green River, Michigan, under cover of night, screaming in rage and despair. Now he's back, though still in hiding, doing dirty deeds his new boss, Phan, needs doing - like tonight's adventure. Seems one of Phan's other lackeys, Kundo, lost Phan's nightclub called The Nice-Nice in a game of chance.

The first time I read this story was in David Bain's Newsletter, "friends Of Bain". And, the first time I met Mike Menger was in Bain's excellent novel, Gray Lake. I liked this character straight away. I do love a good baddie, and Dave is very good at writing baddies! I really like Curt Campbell's narration work, and he's made this story so much fun to listen to. He's very good at making the different character's very distinct. If you love a good tale, with great narration, this is one to try.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
This is the first of a new series of books about supernatural beings, by CDM. And if this, the first one is anything to go by, it's looking to be a exciting new project.
The audio narration is by Curt Campbell. And it is impeccably read, as always. I think this CDM/Campbell collaboration works very well.

For 18 years, Jason has heard the talk around town, but he's never actually seen any of Angel Hill's ghosts. That's until one night at a senior party, when he hears a noise upstairs and decides to check it out. He tells himself the key to freeing a ghost is to find out what it wants, but if what the ghost wants is justice, it might not be too particular on where it finds it. Assuming he's doing a good thing by helping a spirit cross over to the next plane, Jason instead finds himself locked in a hell of his own making.

C. Dennis Moore's Wholly Muffler has to be my favourite Angel Hill short. His telling of these stories, have for me, breathed life into Angel Hill. Curt Campbell reads so well, and is to my mind, fast becoming the voice of CDM.

This story is a great addition to the Angel Hill shorts. Curt Campbell's reading of Private Helicopter, is damn near perfect!! I would recommend both the print, and the audible versions.
