The accents of the narrator were so awful. Maybe don’t narrate accents until you get them down better to sound even somewhat close and not like a racist parody.
Even though I couldn’t finish the book the story in the beginning was meh. Also who cares what order daughters get married in or if they get married at all. And the Italian mother was too much in a bad way.

Great story and even better narration

This is not normally a book I’d pick but I was pulled in. The story was so engrossing but the narration is what made it even that much more for me. Christian Rummel is an amazing narrator.

Good but could be better

I think the narration kind of ruined it for me. Sara Amini does great pronunciation and does well at differentiating the characters. However, as the narrator and as the protagonist she came across as bored and flat. Toward the end more emotion was conveyed but it was still just meh.
Overall it kind of robbed me as a listener to the enjoyment of the story, the cadence ,rhythm and spin in the writing. Which were good once you adjusted to the blandness of the telling.

Holly Blacks other books move at a lot faster pace, feel more poetic and draw you in.

Short yet sweet

I could have listened to more but like anything good that has to do with Christmas it is best not to over indulge. It was sweet, funny, and delightful The narration was enjoyable and entertaining.

Needs to be a series

It should be a book series. I can also easily see this TV series. Kind of like a Mr and Mrs Hart, Chuck, Moonlighting, Remington Steele sort of series. Such an enjoyable listen.

Horrible

It’s hardly insightful and repeats the same information a lot. The meditation at the end is awful the music sounds distorted like a broken speaker. For free you can simplify this without the waste of money. I do not recommend. My energy is off just from this audible waste.

Finally, great balance in an audiobook.

The story was great, likable,believable characters. A perfect mix of endearing and somewhat flawed. The story was seamless to listen to and both voice actors did such a phenomenal job.

Not even 10 minutes in already want a refund

Time would be better spent elsewhere. Mad I wasted a credit and 10 minutes. Try getting to the point quicker and don't fill space and pages with a bunch of unnecessary points
Be concise or at least be entertaining , this was neither. Just word filler and time killer.

awful audible don't download it torture

The robots are taking over, save yourselves, time and money.
I hate that I used a credit on this book. I can't be sure if the information is any good or not because I can't get past the robtic animatronic voice. It is extremely annoying. Teeth clenched and grinding annoying.
The same cadence ( like the original Captain Kirk or Christopher Walken but minus a personality or humanness )and tone as if you called the bank or some other sort of phone tree, "Hello I have no person al ity and only one kind of tonal inflection, vacant and unaware, press one now to speak to a representative. Argh..they were just missing the staticky hold music to play along.
They should have paid someone to do this audio and not used a computer
. I'd do it for free just to not subject people to that horrible insincere robot stepford wife voice.
Because of that great annoyance it was hard to listen to and absorb the information.
How they expect someone to relax or learn with that fake untrustworthy inhuman robtic voice is a mystery to me.
