Historia

Wonderful way to bring history to life!!
Revisado: 12-28-22
I couldn't stop listening. The story and performance were outstanding. It is also nice to have a often hidden part of the country's history come life. The way the story implicates the falsehoods and treachery on both sides do the "war" and related the cost of the treachery is masterful. I hope to read more by Reyna Grande soon.

Weaving together the realities of today with the possibilities of tomorrow, this is a peak at what could be. I hope there are plans to deepen and extend the story into a full length novel or series. This is a great short listen. The readers were excellent.

From 1915 to 1970, this exodus of almost six million people changed the face of America. Wilkerson compares this epic migration to the migrations of other peoples in history. She interviewed more than a thousand people, and gained access to new data and official records, to write this definitive and vividly dramatic account of how these American journeys unfolded, altering our cities, our country, and ourselves.

Some of the richest stories I've heard
Revisado: 09-01-20
The book is beautiful, from the extensive research, to the layered and complex text, to the sometimes overwhelming feelings that are brought to life on the listener. I needed to take breaks at time due to the grip which author had on my mind and heart. This was only enhanced by one of the best audio performances that I've heard. The reader introduced me to and had me yearning for the voices of the people in the story.
A wonderful experience all around!!

The detail in which this story tells of the intricate twists and turns life takes and good that comes from bad acts and bad that comes from good acts, is like the piper playing a tune, I could stop listening.

Enchanting performance throughout, every character was brought to life! The story is filled with twists and turns, and infused with folklore and fantasy. The main characters are a pair of anti-heroines that you love, root for and hate at the same time. Great listen!!

Unexpected connections and emotions.
Revisado: 09-16-18
Excellent listen! Inwas unsure of what angle was gping to be used to connect the ancient texts and the moderns ills of warriors and mental health providers (correctional systems in the US, where our public health facilitiea have disappeared as the prison system has grown) amd health care providers. I really appreciated the healing ability of expression through these works and the willingness of several officials to take risks.
The reading was exceptional! I thought there was true emotion and felt the pain and suffering, victories and deamons throughout the whole book.

Historia
All Systems Red is the tense first science fiction adventure novella in Martha Wells' series The Murderbot Diaries. For fans of Westworld, Ex Machina, Ann Leckie's Imperial Raadch series, or Iain M. Banks' Culture novels. The main character is a deadly security droid that has bucked its restrictive programming and is balanced between contemplative self-discovery and an idle instinct to kill all humans.

Nice trek into being a futuristic hybrid being
Revisado: 04-21-18
The story was a fun tour into the mind of a formerly muderous, rogue, human-hybrid of the future. The story has a sincere air about it, with the correct amount of humor and intrigue. Found myself wanting more when it ended, rather abruptly, without the details of the....do not want to give anything up, I hate reviews that do....wish I knew more. Can't wait to listen to the next phase of the story.
