Historia
In Vietnam, Chuck and Tom Hagel served side by side in the same rifle platoon. Together they fought in the Mekong Delta, battled snipers in Saigon, and chased the enemy through the jungle, and each saved the other's life under fire. But when their one-year tour was over, these two brothers came home side by side but no longer in step - one supporting the war, the other hating it.

Bolger is filled with contradictions and obvious political Bias
Revisado: 05-16-23
Book reads like a speech given at an awards ceremony and not a very good one. The Hagals are a an exceptional Brothers and their story is the backdrop for Bolger to give his slanted political opine. Bolger is left leaning and filled with vitriol towards Nixon. He leaves out the fact that Nixon’s actions got Hanoi scrambling to the negotiation table and us out of the war. He leaves out the Easter offensive when the South Vietnamese held off the North’s largest offensive ever without the help of the US troops; and that Congress would no longer fund resupplying the South Vietnamese nor would they continue to pledge air support. Bolger is quite sympathetic to the Black Panther Party, cop killers, and Vietcong Guerrillas; but a harsher critic to US Military and law enforcement. I wonder if he went to school with General Milley

Historia
You probably haven't noticed them. But they've noticed you. They notice everything. That's their job. Sitting quietly in a nondescript car outside a bank making note of the tellers' work habits. Lagging a few car lengths behind the Brinks truck on its daily rounds. Surreptitiously jiggling the handle of an unmarked service door at the racetrack. They're heisters.

Historia
Ambushed in Afghanistan and betrayed by their own leaders, these elite Marines fought for their lives again, back home. A cross between A Few Good Men and American Sniper, this is the true story of an elite Marine special operations unit bombed by an IED and shot at during an Afghanistan ambush. The Marine Commandos were falsely accused of gunning down innocent Afghan civilians following the ambush. The unit’s leader, Major Fred Galvin, was summarily relieved of duty, and his unit was booted from the combat zone.

A credible story
Revisado: 01-24-23
I remember these incidents as they were carried in the news. Unfortunately it was not at all surprising how it played out. A story of politics and Careerism devastating our finest fighting service. Galvin is a quintessential spec ops XO. He gives a painfully honest account of his early life and is colorful in his description of events in the story. As a somewhat cynical person the closest thing I have of criticism of this amazing man is that he put too much faith and credence into an institution. If the US Military loses its Fred Galvins then the nation is in deep trouble.

Vietnam Saga is a very personal story of Stan Corvin's often perilous times in the US Army as a two-tour combat helicopter pilot in Vietnam. It is a true-life story of soldiers who fought for freedom and often for their very lives. Vietnam Saga is also a story about the meaning of life. Standing back from his war experience, Stan reflects on his ever-present faith and how it carried him through this challenging period of his life.

Authentic Americana
Revisado: 01-31-21
Author gets right to the story with just enough background to get you up to point. While he seems matter of fact he is gives the reader an intimate look into his family and his warrior band of brothers. 5000 hours flight time in Vietnam. Descriptive writing puts you in the Loach helicopter, I found myself holding on to whatever I could in crash descriptions. The last chapter brought out deep emotions. A very good book and an amazing story

Historia
In this frank, engaging memoir, Captain Chamberlain chronicles the missions, personal courage and sacrifice of the Marines he was privileged to command; painfully recalls the unspeakable order he and his Marines were forced to obey; and the cover-up which followed. Nearly four decades later, Captain Chamberlain makes right what was wrong; brings closure to the family of a fallen and abandoned warrior; and attempts to put to rest the guilt which plagued his military career and life.

Historia
John Edmund Delezen felt a kinship with the people he was instructed to kill in Vietnam; they were all at the mercy of the land. His memoir begins when he enlisted in the Marine Corps and was sent to Vietnam in March of 1967. He volunteered for the Third Force Recon Company, whose job it was to locate and infiltrate enemy lines undetected and map their locations and learn details of their status. The duty was often painful both physically and mentally. He was stricken with malaria in November of 1967, wounded by a grenade in February of 1968, and hit by a bullet later that summer.

Authentic Eloquent
Revisado: 10-22-20
I found this to be an honest account of the “Bush Marine”. Amazing story telling ability, the Narration was spot on. While it seemed to be a thorough account the prose were eloquent and poetic like a fine novel even though the subject matter was harsh and gritty. I’m usually quite cynical yet I find Delezen to be honest and without a political spin. I highly recommend
