Historia
For thousands of years, the lonely canyon knew only wind and rain, wild animals, and an occasional native hunter. Then a trapper found a chunk of gold, and everything changed overnight. In six days, a town called Confusion appeared... and on the seventh it could disappear, consumed by the flames of lawlessness and violence. On one side are those who understand only brute force. On the other are men who want law and order but are ready to use a noose to achieve their ends.

An old west town, long lost near Ely, NV
Revisado: 09-27-17
Another win for L'Amour. Matt's a gunslinger you root for while at the same time hoping he can enter the quiet life. The town of Confusion is the perfect stage depicting an upstart town on the brink of collapse--and only a man such as Matt can bring the law.

A Round of Applause for Radigan
Revisado: 05-06-17
I'm a big fan of L'Amour after getting hooked by Lonesome Gods. I'd have to say Tom Radigan is one of my favorite L'Amour characters. L'Amour has created a perfect antagonist in Angelina. Radigan is about A land war over grazing grounds at the onset of winter, two men against an entire group of gunslinging cattleman.

Revisado: 04-29-17
Demelza is one of my most favorite Poldark characters. Her honesty and unwavering love toward Ross is tested in ways I cannot imagine, yet Demelza displays the fortitude of a miner's daughter with the class of the gentry she has become. Another win for Graham, this book easily sent me running for book three.

Slow start, but worth the read.
Revisado: 04-28-17
Winston Graham has created a very human character that you root for despite his flaws. This first book in a 12 part series does the job of pulling the reader into Cornwall England at the turn of the 18th century. The minute I reached "The End," I downloaded the sequel and began turning pages.

In the opening pages of Jamie Ford's stunning debut, Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet, Henry Lee comes upon a crowd gathered outside the Panama Hotel, once the gateway to Seattle's Japantown. It has been boarded up for decades, but now the new owner has made an incredible discovery: the belongings of Japanese families, left when they were rounded up and sent to internment camps during World War II. As Henry looks on, the owner opens a Japanese parasol.
