Where is the plot?

There is no plot. There are random events, some funny stuff, but hours into it there is no plot.

End of chapter 7 and still no plot

Boring story, no plot, key things skipped up front. Write a transcript of people talking in an elevator. About as coherent. Reader sounds like he tries to throw a cheesy smile as he reads. Annoying, and no real plot to distract from it.

Vicky went woke

Did the author get a new feminist GF? Vicky became an easily offended domineering feminist. LT became kind of “emotionally vulnerable “ and put up with the chip on her shoulder. And of course, we get a same sex couple thrown into the mix.

If female authors want a broad audience, this is what to avoid. Weak. More cat worship than sci fi. Seriously, I do not know how this was acceptable in this series. It could have been a couple of chapters in another book without the cat fawning.

I don’t think he wrote it

I’ve read Koontz for years. This seems to have been written by a woman trying to impress people with her recent English Lit degree. Every noun needs at least two adjectives, every verb needs an adverb. She will interrupt an action scene for long winded similies and metaphors, often with inane or esoteric details. She is proud of her vocabulary and makes the simple complicated, like how a woman often blathers on about every fragment of a thought or feeling that passes through her, such that lost in the middle of what any man must tune out for the sake of his sanity the salient points that advance the plot are obfuscated like the taste of a steak over seasoned and garnished by a chef unsure of the suitability of the meager portion of the sirloin purchased at the meat market that …. See what I did there? I could have just said “the writing is over- wordy”, but I was inspired by the writing to make the reader want to gnaw their ears off. This is not the Koontz I have read for so many years.

Good story, poor money grab

The story is good, but the narrative method is awkward, and the narrator over enunciates so bad it distracts. “zing” at the end of a word should not be sounded out like that, and words ending n “t” do not need to sound like hitting a symbol. The real problem is paying for all these and then after book 4 having a double cliffhanger to get people to buy two new series to resolve. All the kids and cousins in the family need braces or something? Not cool, and I’m not going any further.

Some crazy premise, not the most physics oriented, 1 credit for 30 hours is a pretty good value.

Great book and series

Great value for the credits. Interesting story, very creative and you can get into it without suspending much belief.

Protagonist is a wimpy guy, we find out when he allows himself to be dominated by an aggressive female, but this is after having to listen to global warming propaganda. Life is too short. Want my money back.

Goofy premise at first glance

But really enjoyable. Ignore the scolds, it was not written for kids, there is dirty humor but always light hearted. Very pleasant and very interesting. The author pulled it off.
