Historia
Elmwood Springs, Missouri, is a small town like any other, but something strange is happening out at the cemetery. Still Meadows, as it's called, is anything but still. Funny and profound, this novel in the tradition of Flagg's Can't Wait to Get to Heaven and Thornton Wilder's Our Town deals with universal themes of heaven and earth and everything in between, as Flagg tells a surprising story of life, afterlife, and the mysterious goings-on of ordinary people.

Hardly a day goes by when nine-year-old Laurent Lepage doesn't cry wolf. From alien invasions to walking trees to winged beasts in the woods to dinosaurs spotted in the village of Three Pines, his tales are so extraordinary no one can possibly believe him. Including Armand and Reine-Marie Gamache, who now live in the little Quebec village.

Great Story - Miss Ralph Cosham as the narrator
Revisado: 09-09-15
Where does The Nature of the Beast rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
Great story Louise Penny did not disappoint. I have listened to all of the Three Pines stories (several times each) and I love them all. However, I will be reading the next book on my kindle. No one can replace Ralph Cosham, I understand that, however, the current narrator was a huge disappointment.
What did you like best about this story?
I love how Louise Penny mixes history with the characters of Three Pines. I was moved by the growth of Ruth's character.
Would you be willing to try another one of Robert Bathurst’s performances?
Perhaps if the story were of new characters.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
Great story, parts made me laugh parts made me tear up - no spoilers I promise.
Any additional comments?
I can't wait for the next book. What will Inspector Gamache do next? Who else will be murdered in Three Pines? Gruesome I know, but I love a good mystery, and Louise Penny has not disappointed with her tales of Three Pines. I would love to live in Three Pines, but to be honest, I would be afraid to be murdered!
