Excellent story writing and perfect use of established legacy characters.

Book 14. When you follow a series like this there are certain books in the timeline that just stand out this is one of them!

I look forward to this time of year for the release of every Gray man book. I would rank Backblast as my altime favorite. I've listened to that story at least 4 times and the entire series twice.

First I absolutely Love Zack Hightower! The bromance humor that he brings to this series is precious and almost extinct in current writing these days seeing that most literature is written for women or 'modern audiences'.

I Love Matt Hanley and his rough I don't give a F@#& demeanor. Plus the development of Zoya Zacharova has been outstanding as well... exceptionally tough and skilled but very feminine ... not obnoxious girl boss.

All this being said, the setup for the story was great starting from the end of the last book. A prison break in Russia tied together with real world events using great established likeable characters that you're heavily invested in. The progression of the story was perfect, each event tying into the next. The author's knowledge of weapons, tactics, and spycraft makes the story all the more better!

If you're on the fence for the love of God buy this book and support one of the greatest action espionage writers in our current time.

Excellent Rapp Novel

I really liked this book, I've listened to the last 10 audiobooks in this series and although this was not one of the best stories it was definitely up there. If you're on the fence about this I would say jump over and get it. it starts with a predictable vibe but then takes off in a very good unpredictable direction dealing with relevant world issues and conflicts.

The narrator really grew on me as well...It was a solid performance for an established story franchise. They should use him again if more Rapp novels come out.

Stand out Jr. book!

Don Bentley has quickly become one of my favorite authors over the last three years. I love his plot and character development not to mention his action movie style humor or should I call it Gun-Foo style humor.

Brick is everywhere...But his narration with Bentley Novels just can't be beat like Jagger and Richards!

I Love how Bentley has breathed fresh air into the existing characters of this franchise and cannot wait for more!

Bentley's best book yet!

I blew through this in a day and a half! I cannot say enough about how good this listen was I was so compelled and eager to learn more about the last days before the US pulled out. The effects on veterans, former Afghan operators with the US, and the citizens...just an absolute tragedy.

However, not to be a total downer this book reaches deep for redemption and meaning to those that sacrificed so much over the last 20 years. Over the years I have really come to love the characters in this series, the author's dark military (guy) humor is absolutely too notch with an 80's action move. With the addition of Scott Brick narrating the audiobook quality has been taken to the next level of Awesome. I've listened to A LOT of Scott Brick over the years but there is something about the writing of Bentley and Brick's narration that is just a perfect fit!

I really look forward to more writing from Bentley in the future... especially now that he is putting out material for the Clancy franchise (which last years Jack Ryan story was the best in years!)...keep them coming!

Solid characters and development, endless growing and evolving story content, multiple powerful nemesis that you want to see end in a horrible fiery death, evil secret power group, and a Love story that has more obstacles than trying to climb Mount Everest.

I've been binging on this series and this book left me speechless, shaking, enraged, and in the fetal position when the ending came.

For the love of God just read or listen to this book! I've already downloaded the next one...

Solid Writing and Character development!

I just completed this story and will be enjoying the next two as soon as possible! This is one of the best stories I've listened to over the last year.

I cannot say enough about how the author took so much painstaking effort to create such depth in the characters. Drake is a strong character who leads through action and humility while battling his own demons.

Even more so the female protagonist in this story was incredible regarding the life she had been dealt and chosen. You just found yourself hanging on each reveal of her and Drake's past.

Oh ya and the story itself was just solid! I've listened to dozens and dozens of terrorist type stories regarding the middle east or Russia but this one was creatively and carefully thought out. I loved the introduction of the CIA shepherd teams very fascinating and different angle for an action espionage book.

Anyway...just read or listen to it!!!

Just finished this series and this by far was the best! Treat yourself to a great listen and drop that credit on this audio!

Great writing by Baier and awesome narration as always by Synder. This is a new favorite series for me along with Reacher, Gray man, and Orphan x.

Surprised!

Got caught up on a lot of my other favorite audios so I was looking for a new series and found this one because I like Jay Snyder's narration (Gray Man series).

I really liked the characters and the story. it's a short listen but very entertaining. If you're into highly skilled quirky off the books operators (Main character likes bee keeping and Marvel comics when he's not wasting dudes) this is a series for you!

I'm getting ready to dive into the third audio book and looking forward to the next one!

Top tier writing and narration

The combination of Hurwitz's writing and Bricks narration continue to be one of the best in the audiobook industry.

The continuing development of each character in the Orphan series is fully present in this new release. I absolutely love Joey and dog the dog!

I must say that I have never been that big a fan of stories focusing on on cartel villains but this was a winner! Very gripping and flew threw this in Three days!
