Historia
On an island off the coast of Ireland, guests gather to celebrate two people joining their lives together as one. The groom: handsome and charming, a rising television star. The bride: smart and ambitious, a magazine publisher. It’s a wedding for a magazine or for a celebrity: the designer dress, the remote location, the luxe party favors, the boutique whiskey. The cell phone service may be spotty and the waves may be rough, but every detail has been expertly planned and will be expertly executed.

Historia
The Montoyas are used to a life without explanations. They know better than to ask why the pantry never seems to run low, or why their matriarch won’t ever leave their home in Four Rivers - not for graduations, weddings, or baptisms. But when Orquídea Divina invites them to her funeral and to collect their inheritance, they hope to learn the secrets that she has held onto so tightly their whole lives. Instead, Orquídea is transformed into a ceiba tree, leaving them with more questions than answers.

Amazing story that keeps you guessing.
Revisado: 07-25-22
This is a great, captivating story. I love how the timeline jumps back and forth so each chapter leaves off on a cliffhanger of that storyline but then you get to pick up on the cliffhanger of the other storyline. It was also refreshing to read a stand alone book that developed each character perfectly, had a resolution and did not need a million sequels. Major shout out to the narrator. A big part of this book is the culture and I love that they picked a narrator that enhanced that.

Dull predictable heroine
Revisado: 03-30-22
The heroine and story was very dull and predictable. The “love” between her and the other main character was extremely quick and forced. They don’t even know each other yet are madly in love. Their scenes together would make me cringe. All of her powers and the book was just not interesting enough to make me want to listen to their “romance”. It is one of the few books in my life I have not finished and do not want to finish. The narrator did the best she could with the story.

Revisado: 06-02-20
I know this has mixed reviews but I personally loved it! Kept me hooked from the beginning until the end. Story was great, little bit of happy, sad, love story, suspense and surprise. She is a fantastic writer for descriptions...I saw each setting and person perfectly in my mind. I also loved the performer who had great accents.

GREAT!
Revisado: 10-23-16
Great book! Keeps you on the edge of your seat the whole time! Not quite as shocking of an ending as Gone Girl but still a good twist! The readers are fantastic and really pull you into the story! I found myself sympathizing and really getting to know all of the characters as he author slowly introduced them and their back stories.

Emotional roller coaster
Revisado: 04-28-16
Wow where to even begin. Wonderfully written story! I listen to these books while I walk around grocery shopping or working out and multiple times it was so witty and funny that I snorted out loud and got weird looks! You get so attached to Louisa and will. And I love how she gives the point of view of multiple characters. This is such a real and raw story. It tugs at your heart strings and you feel like you are really there with the characters and have to pull yourself back and remind yourself that it isn't happening to you. I love how I could tell that the author really did research into quadriplegics and showed their not only daily but hourly struggle and presented both sides of the struggle (the quadriplegic and the people that love them) so well. I really had no idea how much they have to go through and it was humbling. As one reviewer said too; I laughed and I ugly cried multiple times each. Over all it's a wonderful and very different book. Give it a try!

Historia
The tranquility of a luxury cruise along the Nile was shattered by the discovery that Linnet Ridgeway had been shot through the head. She was young, stylish, and beautiful. A girl who had everything...until she lost her life. Hercule Poirot recalled an earlier outburst by a fellow passenger: “I’d like to put my dear little pistol against her head and just press the trigger.” Yet under the searing heat of the Egyptian sun, nothing is ever quite what it seems.

Like always she had me second guessing the entire time! I have no idea how she comes up with 3 plot twists in every book...this one is no exception! The narrator is great!
