Historia
Based directly on Frank Herbert's final outline, which lay hidden in two safe-deposit boxes for a decade, Sandworms of Dune will answer the urgent questions Dune fans have been debating for two decades: the origin of the Honored Matres, the tantalizing future of the planet Arrakis, the final revelation of the Kwisatz Haderach, and the resolution to the war between Man and Machine.

Fun but confusing
Revisado: 01-22-22
Frank’s deep dive into sex in this book was pretty strange not going to lie.
Also, the barrage of new characters as well the combination of new alliances and subsequent deceptions was very confusing.
Still, the storytelling was great and I just love listening to Frank’s style of writing. 4/5 for me.

Historia
The bonds we are capable of feeling toward other people - how we know and belong to one another - provide fascinating glimpses into the intricacies of human behavior. Intimacy is that moment when our true identity is revealed to another, when traumas, fears, and ambitions are shared. Through the ordinary stories of eight relationships, Giovanni Frazzetto has woven an extraordinary narrative of togetherness.

Rich stories, but scattered. Narrator needs work
Revisado: 09-03-21
I loved the contents of the stories.
They showed a rich diversity of relationships and some of the science behind each type — at the level of neurotransmitters.
However, the book felt quite disorganized in an audiobook medium. The stories did not seem to flow well from one to the next.
The names of the characters were also very hard to keep track of — I would need to repeat the first 5 minutes of each story to remember who was who.
Lastly, the narrator did a solid job but was quite bad at impersonating characters in the stories, like his Italian accent.
Overall, it was a good audiobook, and I would recommend it to others.

Historia
Today's "machine-learning" systems, trained by data, are so effective that we've invited them to see and hear for us - and to make decisions on our behalf. But alarm bells are ringing. Systems cull résumés until, years later, we discover that they have inherent gender biases. Algorithms decide bail and parole - and appear to assess black and white defendants differently. We can no longer assume that our mortgage application, or even our medical tests, will be seen by human eyes. And autonomous vehicles on our streets can injure or kill.

Interesting overall
Revisado: 08-28-21
I liked the subject of the book. I also liked the ideas and stories shared in it.
However, the book ultimately came across as a summarization of research over the last 100 years related to machine learning and artificial intelligence -- instead of a what I expected to be an in depth description of the potential severity of the "alignment problem" in a modern or future context.

Arrogant
Revisado: 05-23-21
The author is overly arrogant, condescending, and pompous.
Really? Quoting Rudy Giulani about core principles? As if he has any???
Life is nice and easy if you live in the bubble that the author has lived in. Otherwise it’s not so easy.

Historia
In this award-winning Audible Studios production, Trevor Noah tells his wild coming-of-age tale during the twilight of apartheid in South Africa. It’s a story that begins with his mother throwing him from a moving van to save him from a potentially fatal dispute with gangsters, then follows the budding comedian’s path to self-discovery through episodes both poignant and comical.

A great coming-to-age story about the struggles of growing up in South Africa under apartheid.
Trevor’s ability to weave disturbing experiences into a digestible, lighthearted format for listeners was incredible.
