This book left me cold. The potential of the story is limitless, but unfortunately the author aimed low and took a very simplistic and naïve approach.

If you are looking for a thoughtful biography of David, this book is not for you.

The story of the man who saved America from itself

This extremely well crafted, researched and written book achieves the monumental task of enabling the reader to get to know the man as well as develop an appreciation for the complexities, emotions and personalities contributing to the build up to the Civil War and the titanic battle between the pro-slavery and abolitionist camps, while masterly and importantly addressing the racism which permeated society at the times as well as the Black experience and perspective.

This book should be a mandatory read for all Americans and is highly recommended to anyone seeking an understanding of the American experience and a historical context as a foundation to understand current events.

This detailed, focused and well written book takes a very Hamiltonian view of the time, place and events so as a compliment and counterpoint counterpoint to this book I suggest one reads "Fallen Founder: The Life of Aaron Burr" by Nancy Isenbeg to hear the other "other side of the story" and gain a deeper understanding of this interesting and important period in American history.

I heartily recommend both books and a pair and much will be left unlearned if you read one without the other.

This important compliment to Ron Chernow's "Alexander Hamilton" will provide the reader with the "other side of the story" and a deeper understanding of this interesting and important period in American history.

I heartily recommend both books and a pair as much will be left unlearned if you read one without the other.

I was able to surrender belief enough to enjoy the first Grey Man Novel, However the second one, On Target, defeated me.

Only Jay Snyder's narration kept me going but after 3/4 through I had to give up and find a better book to spend my time with.

It’s never too late to be a better person, so if you are like me and have known about this book for years but never bothered to pick it up ... I suggest you give it a go. You may be as pleasantly surprised as I was

Capote's genre defining work "In Cold Blood" is a must read for anyone interested in true crime, murder mysteries or detective stories.

Brick's narration is a seminal example of the art.

The two combine to make a brilliant audio book.

Neil's narration is amaturish and so terrible I could not listen to this book. Why author's insist on reading their own work without the skill required to do so astounds me.
