So Good - I need more.
Revisado: 04-19-23
totally binged this one. the performances were so good. I was vested in characters as soon as episode one ended. Lou!!!
I hope there is a part two soon.
The episodes are great to listen in the car if you commute. so many little twists and her investigations were all solved. Loved how they all sort of tied together in some weird way.
Enjoy this one everyone.

Navajo lore! Post Apocalypse! Twists! Wonderful characters and world building. I hope there is a sequel planned. The narrator did a wonderful job.

So slow and boring
Revisado: 02-25-19
I think it's a combination of both the story and the performance but this was so slow and boring. I get that the author is trying to set up the back story and the present. And the narrator has the daunting task of trying to make it interesting but it just doesn't work. It goes on and on and nothing happens. Everyone wants this book except the only person who can get it. The female lead is so boring i just couldn't care about her.
I had to return it half way through. I bought it since I heard people mention it in posts that is a TV series now. Maybe that will be better.
update: couldn't get past half the TV series either...the acting/script just awful.

Historia
Mack might be, to all intents and purposes, a normal looking human, but she lives with a pack of shapeshifters in Cornwall in rural England after being dumped there by her mother when she was just a young child. She desperately wants to be accepted by her surrogate family, not least because a lot of them hate her for merely being human, but for some reason her blood just won't allow the transformation to occur.

Really Enjoyed this
Revisado: 10-24-18
loved the dialogue between the characters. the plot and world building are good too. Mack has lots of spunk and I love the hard-to-get romance, with the adventure going on. It can be predictable at times but that didn't really take away from the story. I am a sucker for a girl with trust issues...even though she tends to be more trusting than she admits to. Makes for a great chase with the love interest. Narration is great. looking forward to the others in the series. not really a cliffhanger, but the story does continue so you will need to read in order.
thank goodness it's not instant love

Historia
Saiya Buchanan is a wraith, able to detach her shadow from her body and send it off to do her bidding. But, unlike most of her kin, Saiya doesn't deal in death. Instead, she trades secrets - and in the goblin besieged city of Stirling in Scotland, they're a highly prized commodity. It might just be, however, that the goblins have been hiding the greatest secret of them all. When Gabriel de Florinville, a Dark Elf, is sent as royal envoy into Stirling and takes her prisoner, Saiya is not only going to uncover the sinister truth.

Started good but then seemed to hurried
Revisado: 10-24-18
it started out great. the world building, the characters, the plot. But the insta-love thing just disappoints. She is a wraith that doesn't really know much about her own powers. He's a fae who is also not in abundance. He falls instantly in love with one touch. At least she doesn't . I liked the comical inner dialogue as she is dealing with her fated mate and the crazy world she lives in. She is very independent. I actually really enjoyed her character until she gave in at the end in what seemed like a hurried ending. I don't know, I guess I like the slow burn and build up but it was worth the sale price i purchased it for.
the Narrator did a great job with the different voices.
The Destiny series is much better and worth the $7.49 price if you have KU. the audibles are great!!

Their investigation leads them deep into the underbelly of the Breed world, a place both treacherous and enticing. Just Keeps Getting Better
Revisado: 07-04-18
This was by far the best story so far. story keeps evolving, the romance is starting to sizzle but not in a those love at first sight "you are my mate" craziness. but in that "we have so much to lose yet so much to gain" sizzle. the support characters have some more substance and we get to know and like them even more. I have read the Magi series and although that was good and we meet Christian there (where I really enjoyed him) He is so much more here. And Raven is still a bad-ass and sensitive and smart. the narrator does a great job with the voices and bringing out the emotions of the scene and all the characters. The stories don't end in cliffhangers as far as the plot goes, the characters continue to grow and we get more of the Breed World with each installment. Waiting patiently for the 4th book in August.

This series was unexpectedly good
Revisado: 06-07-18
First time reading/listening to this author and narrators. great world building, character development, and emotionally charged. so worth the credits or purchase if you have unlimited. the narrators did an outstanding job (yes not all the same but still easy to follow and didn't take away from the story)
story covers everything from loss, love, social/racial discrimination and boundaries. Plus add in fantasy worlds, people, magic, gory fight scenes, and what more could you ask for?
it's nice to have narration to hear how everything is pronounced...LOL
the three audible books took me through many long commute drives! Thank You!
