Historia
It’s almost Halloween, and the small island of Charm, North Carolina, is decked out for the festivities. When Everly Swan agrees to close her iced tea shop early to help her aunts host their annual haunted historic walking tour, she expects some good-natured spooks. But the night turns grave when one of the ghostly actors is found dead. To complicate matters, the victim scratched Everly’s name into the ground before she died, making her a key suspect.

Silly plot

This is book 5 in the series. I love the narrator & the Everly & Grady’s relationship. But the story line of murder is getting sillier.

Historia
Texas, 1921. A time of abundance. The Great War is over, the bounty of the land is plentiful, and America is on the brink of a new and optimistic era. But for Elsa Wolcott, deemed too old to marry in a time when marriage is a woman’s only option, the future seems bleak. Until the night she meets Rafe Martinelli. By 1934, the world has changed; millions are out of work and drought has devastated the Great Plains. Elsa must make an agonizing choice: fight for the land she loves or leave it behind and go west, to California, in search of a better life for her family.

Historia
Margot and James are broken up—for good this time. James made sure of it when he dropped the bomb on Margot: that he doesn’t want kids, ever. Then, on the biggest morning of his life, James—an ambitious lawyer at a high-powered firm—wakes up pregnant. He realizes with dread that he is part of a recent epidemic of men suddenly and inexplicably becoming pregnant. His condition obvious to the higher-ups, James is denied the promotion he was expecting, sending him reeling.

As a conservative that believes in choice but doesn’t endorse government funded abolitions this was a very interesting story & brought up many valid points.

Narration made it difficult to listen to at times. I’m spoiled by Therese Plummer. I really like Irene Hannon & was going to start another series but since it has the same narrator.

Cute story; bad narration
Revisado: 12-12-24
This is the 2nd book in a row where I’ve been disappointed in the narration. I guess I’m spoiled by Therese Plummer & January LaVoy who can change their voices amongst characters. Nice holiday story & that you know there is a lot of truth.

Historia
Lark Smith has always had a plan for her life: find a fantastic guy, create a marriage as blissful as her parents’, pop out a couple of kids, and build a rewarding career as an oncologist. Things aren’t going so well. For one, the guy didn’t work out. Theoretically, she’d love to find someone else, but it hasn’t happened. Two, she’s just been transferred out of Oncology for being too emotional. (Is it her fault she’s a weeper?) Three, her parents just split up. Deviating from the plan was … well, not in the plan. A potential solution comes from the foul-tempered surgeon Lorenzo Santini.

Depressing story, terrible narration
Revisado: 11-25-24
The narration was painful especially the voice of Lark, the main character. It was low spoken & words mumbled. The only reason I continued to listen was to see how the book ended.
