Relevant in 2023, even if some of those discussed (Dave Rubin) are not. Michael did a good job deconstructing the most pernicious arguments made by the right-wing demagogues who still dominate online discourse, which inevitably trickles down into the mainstream, and does so with historical context. If only Michael could have seen the new faces who have come to the fore and the right's ironic and unabashed embrace of things they once criticized (like liberal cancel culture) since Michael's passing, there would possibly be an updated edition; however, the analysis and tactics to combat them, as presented in this book, are still be relevant.

Sam does a good job at narrating this book. Sam's impersonations pale into comparison to what Michael could do (Michael could pull off a better Sam somehow than Sam himself), but I couldn't think of a better person to narrate this book except Michael Brooks himself.

I really enjoyed Col. Kittinger's autobiography. I was hesitant to purchase it at first at the thought that it may be just Manhigh and Excelsior + Stuff, but I was pleased to find out that Col. Kittinger has had a very exciting and historic life. I've listened to the book twice so far, and plan to listen to it again. I think Christian Rummel emulates Col. Kittinger well.

Come Up and Get Me was published two months before Excelsior III's fiftieth anniversary, so no Red Bull Stratos (however, the audio book was published four days before Felix Baumgartner broke Col. Kittinger's record, with Col. Kittinger acting as the mission's capcom). For people who want to learn more about his role in Stratos, he's featured in almost every official video on YouTube. There's also a good documentary called "Balloon Men" on PBS, which is where I first learned about Manhigh and Excelsior.

The only issue I have with this book is that the forward by Neil Armstrong is committed, so the cover is a little misleading. Not really a big deal, though. I highly recommend this book.

I really enjoyed the book and Laurence Bouvard's narration. The last few chapters seemed a little rushed (the narrative, not the narrator), I think because the heavily character-driven narrative changed focus to the institutional rivalries that were resolved by the creation of NASA. Other than that, it was a great listen, and it left an impression on me that drove me to seek out more information about the depicted people and events.

I enjoyed listening to the Science Guy's reading of Unstoppable. As a scientist, I found the book to be focused more on the technological/engineering aspects of climate change than the science, but that's okay, because the science behind the technology is fascinating. For anyone concerned that this book may be laden with smug, self-righteous preaching from the progressive pulpit and attempt to convert you to veganism or whatever (like impassioned pleas to fight climate change unfortunately tend to be), don't worry: This book is a rational argument for why we have to fix climate change, but absolutely do not have to regress from our American standards of living to do so. On that note, I'm glad Mr. Nye admits in Unstoppable that he has come to a more reasonable assessment of GMOs since publishing Undeniable. Like any scientifically-minded person, he was able to change his viewpoint after careful assessment of scientific data. I hope this book can inspire others to do so as well.

I saw Chris on Star Talk, ended up buying this audio book shortly thereafter, and have listened to it twice since then. It's an awesome book.
