Historia
Meet Eleanor Oliphant: She struggles with appropriate social skills and tends to say exactly what she's thinking. Nothing is missing in her carefully timetabled life of avoiding social interactions, where weekends are punctuated by frozen pizza, vodka, and phone chats with Mummy. But everything changes when Eleanor meets Raymond, the bumbling and deeply unhygienic IT guy from her office.

Loved It!
Revisado: 07-06-19
I fell in love with Eleanor, and Ms McCarron's Glaswegian accents. The characters were skilfully painted and the revelation of what lay below was quite addictive. Unswitchoffable!

Beware of tears in your eyes while driving and funny looks from other drivers if stuck in a traffic jam. When's the next one coming out?

Historia
Twenty years ago, Bill Bryson went on a trip around Britain to discover and celebrate that green and pleasant land. The result was Notes from a Small Island, a true classic and one of the bestselling travel books ever written. Now he has traveled about Britain again, by bus and train and rental car and on foot, to see what has changed—and what hasn’t.

Bliss.
Revisado: 10-16-16
A must-read for Bill's fans and also for those of us who care deeply about Britain and who feel that some changes over the last 20 and 40 years are not necessarily for the better. He reminds us of Britain's enduring geographical attractiveness and national character and makes the case for preservation. Being Bill, however, there is not a trace of preachiness but lots of laughter and enough passion woven discreetly among the thread of the narrative, so as not to make British readers uncomfortable! An excellent performance by Nathan Osgood.

Historia
A chance encounter with a movie producer leads to a job posing as a stand-in for a well-known film star. The star reels her in deeper, though, and soon she's inhabiting the actress' skin off-set, too - going deeper into the Casablancan night and further from herself. And so continues a strange and breathtaking journey full of unexpected turns, an adventure in which the woman finds herself moving further and further away from the person she once was.

Hooked
Revisado: 10-09-16
A perfect companion on a busy Saturday of solitary errands and chores for a "grass widow". It hit the spot for piquing my interest and
keeping me hooked. I don't want to add a spoiler but this is provoked questions about self-discovery.

Another Masterpiece.
Revisado: 10-09-16
Slaughter cleverly constructs this story using the flashback technique to brilliant effect to reveal the mystery. As usual, she is not for those who can't stomach the depths of man's and woman's inhumanity but as usual she reaches a satisfying conclusion for the reader and the wonderfully real characters.

Loved It
Revisado: 09-05-16
With her stories based on the depths of human depravity, Karin Slaughter is not for the squeamish but she is a wonderful storyteller who respects the reader's intelligence and who will keep you coming back to get more. The characters are unveiled cleverly and plot twists and turns are brilliantly unpredictable and shocking but the reader is never kept confused for long and there is always a satisfying resolution, even if not a happy ending.
