Historia
Nothing ever changes in Sanders. The town's still got a video store, for God's sake. So why doesn't Eli Teague want to leave? Not that he'd ever admit it, but maybe he's been waiting - waiting for the traveler to come back. The one who's roared into his life twice before, pausing just long enough to drop tantalizing clues before disappearing in a cloud of gunfire and a squeal of tires. The one who's a walking anachronism, with her tricorne hat, flintlock rifle, and steampunked Model A Ford.

I had a really hard time swallowing the basic premise of this book, but the writing and narration were so good that I still really enjoyed the story.

Great!
Revisado: 04-21-22
I enjoyed the story and though the narrator was fantastic. I particularly liked the sentient spaceships, especially the Ocelot character. At times there was a bit too much blood and guts for my taste, but the story was good enough for me to get through those parts. I hope this is the start of a series!

However, that easy job becomes much more complicated once Nils arrives in Los Angeles, a disorienting place where the sunshine hides dark secrets. Great book with poor narration
Revisado: 01-31-22
I’ve enjoyed this series so far and I loved the narration by MacLeod Andrews. I think Dead West is a good story, but Bronson Pinchot ‘s narration nearly ruined it for me. While I found his voice for Nils pleasant, most of the other voices were terrible. The voices for the black and female characters seem inappropriate and insulting.

Decent story, didn’t like the narration
Revisado: 09-13-21
I found the story to be reasonably entertaining, but the narration nearly ruined it for me. The narrator’s narration voice was pleasant, but his character voices sounded overdone and fake, and there were way too many accents. It seemed more like a comedy sketch than a sci-fi novel.

Artifact Space has been one of my favorite listens. I think the author built an interesting world and I found the main character to be both believable and likable. The narrator took a great story and made it even better. I’m really looking forward to the companion novel!

Could not get through it
Revisado: 11-29-18
I could not get through this book. I tried, but at about the halfway mark, I just could not stand it any more. The premise was interesting but the writing was dull, juvenile, and predictable. The time and money I spent was completely wasted.

Great series
Revisado: 09-22-16
I started listening to this series with my 11 year old son and we've both enjoyed all 3 books. It wasn't too "little kiddish" for my son and I liked that, in addition to it being a great story, there was nothing inappropriate for family listening. I think the narrator was good overall. My only criticism is that he does an almost unbelievably horrible American accent and there were a few American characters in this book. It really grated on my ears after a while. Overall it was very enjoyable and I really hope more books are added to the series.
