Historia
This is not my week. Or month. Or year. My now-ex-boyfriend cheating on me with my best friend? I'd get over it eventually. Finding out my sister has Lycan wolf DNA and I have hours to get her out of the city before she's locked away in a government research facility? I definitely didn't see that one coming. To save my sister's life, we take off in the middle of the night following cryptic instructions from our late father to what was supposed to be the toxic wastelands. Imagine my surprise when we stumble into a fairy tale civilization of wolf shifters where magic is real.

Not what I was expecting
Revisado: 02-08-25
Mr. Barron seems to be a very good writer, but I found nothing frightening in these stories. I have tried this book twice and I did get a bit further this time. However, the only story I remember is the one with 2 women in a cabin who find a strange pelt. I read a lot of horror though, so maybe I expected to much.

Just because this story did not meet my expectations does not mean it's a bad story. I don't want to give anything away so I will say this.
If you are looking for a good scary story, this isn't it. If you want a spooky who done it, then you will enjoy this story.

Historia
Matt Kearns just needed to get away from it all - to grieve for his father and let the rugged wilderness of Michigan's Upper Peninsula renew him, like it always had. But from the moment he arrives, nothing feels right. Strange happenings shake his confidence and have him questioning his sanity. Even the animals seem to know something is amiss. But each time he tries to leave, something - something truly malicious - violently pulls him back. What could it be? Why him? And what will he have to do to escape with his life?

This story wasn't a bad read, although it seemed to take forever to get going. Some descriptions were overly long. But once it finally took off it was well worth the listen. An interesting take on something that won't let you leave!

Once again Jeremy Robinson knocks it out of the park! A perfect blend of action, sci Fi, and horror. I had no idea when I first listened to one of his stories (Forbidden Island) that I would come to enjoy them so much. Thank you Audible for making Point Nemo a daily deal!

Historia
Aram thinks he’s nothing but a misfit from a small fishing village in a dark corner of the world. As far as Aram knows, he has nothing, with hardly a possession to his name other than a desire to make friends and be accepted by those around him, which is something he’s never known. But Aram is more. Much, much more. Unknown to him, Aram bears within him a gift so old and rare that many people would kill him for it, and there are others who would twist him to use for their own sinister purposes.

Great story and narration
Revisado: 08-18-24
I love this story and hope to read/hear the rest soon. But I certainly hope that Aram will get over it! We understand, he's very insecure and down on himself but it is distracting and tiresome. That is my major (perhaps only) negative objection to this awesome book?

Historia
Twenty-five years ago, Maggie Holt and her parents, Ewan and Jess, moved into Baneberry Hall, a rambling Victorian estate in the Vermont woods. Three weeks later they fled in the dead of night, an ordeal Ewan later recounted in a nonfiction book called House of Horrors. His horror memoir of ghostly happenings and encounters with malevolent spirits became a worldwide phenomenon, rivaling The Amityville Horror in popularity — and skepticism.

Enjoyed it
Revisado: 06-24-24
Reading the reviews, I wasn't sure if this would be worth the listen but I enjoyed this book. Could some things have been better, of course they could but for me this didn't keep me from wanting to know what happened next. I agree that the narrator was a bit over enthusiastic sometimes. It would be interesting to see/hear a different narrators take on the story or even a rewrite to expand the story in a few places. Overall, I am glad I purchased it.

Historia
When Peter Constantine inherited a vast, remote estate, his life began to change. Free at last from money worries, Peter and his wife, Meg, could relax - and Peter could explore his new, mysterious home. From the thick woods, the winding trails, the bizarre, sensual sculpture, came a pulsing, ancient call that stirred his very soul. Then he heard the music and saw the beautiful woman who beckoned him into the wood...into an ancient ritual, a blood curse, a world of violent, unbridled lust.

Not bad but not what I expected
Revisado: 06-05-24
First, I believe the story itself has potential but it was extremely SLOW. Seemed to take forever before anything interesting happened. The narrator did a fine job with a somewhat boring story. It also feels like many things were left unanswered or not explained that may have helped to move the story along and give it more life. Still, it isn't a bad way to pass time if you need to but I am glad I didn't have to pay for it.
