Historia
This powerful hypnosis recording by best-selling self-help author Glenn Harrold has been designed to help you to control pain naturally. Pain signals are nerve impulses that travel through the central nervous system and to the brain. Once a pain response is registered in the brain a feeling of discomfort is felt. The level of discomfort is dependent on the strength of the pain signal. Some people can cope better with pain than others depending on their subjective pain threshold.

Not effective with shingles pain. This style would be better for an injury rather than an illness

Divide the 7 books logically.
Revisado: 08-22-18
This is seven books. Well written and read excellently but if you want to read a specific book rather than simply first to last, it is very hard to find the location. Chapters 2-5 are Custom of the Army. Chapters 6-10 are The Space Between. Chapters 11-14 are A Plague of Zombies. Chapters 15-16 are A Leaf on the Wind of all Hollows. Chapters 17-21 are Virgins. Chapters 22-39 are A Fugitive Green. And chapter 40 behind Besieged. This information could have been included in book details and saved me a lot of trouble.

Though I'm not also fond of self help books, this one makes me want to try things that I've only dreamed about. If your discouraged, try this one. Or maybe try it for fun.

Historia
On its surface, life in Houston in the 1950s is as you'd expect: stoic fathers, restless teens, drive-in movies, and souped-up Cadillacs. But underneath lies a world shifting under high school junior Aaron Broussard's feet. There's a class war between the "haves" and the "have-nots" as well as a real war, Korea, happening on the other side of the world. It is against this backdrop that Aaron comes of age, trying to understand how first loves, friendship, violence, and power can alter what "traditional America" means for the people trying to find their way in a changing world.

It's a downer
Revisado: 04-15-18
Not saying it's bad, but it was very unpleasant. I turned it off around chapter 4. Also the reader was so close to the mic that the sound had air sound and distracting whistles.

Historia
Hailed by The New York Times as "a marvel of storytelling", The Things They Carried’s portrayal of the boots-on-the-ground experience of soldiers in the Vietnam War is a landmark in war writing. Now, three-time Emmy Award winner-Bryan Cranston, star of the hit TV series Breaking Bad, delivers an electrifying performance that walks the book’s hallucinatory line between reality and fiction and highlights the emotional power of the spoken word.

If you could sum up Plain Truth in three words, what would they be?
I would not sum it up in 3 words. Complicated characters in an usual situation. I felt deeply for them all.
Any additional comments?
I liked the judge's ruling. She made a real effort to be fair.

Want a lecture on Elephants?
Revisado: 01-26-15
Would you try another book from Jodi Picoult and/or the narrators?
Probably not.
If you’ve listened to books by Jodi Picoult before, how does this one compare?
I loved Plain Truth. I listened to all of this one, but I felt like it dragged and that the author spent so much engendering sympathy for the elephants that the plot was not the point of the story.
Have you listened to any of the narrators’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
No
What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?
Relieved when it was over
Any additional comments?
I worry about the fate of all the animals in our overcrowded world. Sometimes I contribute to causes that help them. However I don't like to be approached stealthily like this novel does.

Historia
The debut psychological thriller that will forever change the way you look at other people's lives. Every day the same. Rachel takes the same commuter train every morning and night. Every day she rattles down the track, flashes past a stretch of cozy suburban homes, and stops at the signal that allows her to daily watch the same couple breakfasting on their deck. She’s even started to feel like she knows them. Jess and Jason, she calls them. Their life - as she sees it - is perfect. Not unlike the life she recently lost.

Mystery - definitely for women
Revisado: 01-26-15
Would you listen to The Girl on the Train again? Why?
No - I don't listen to novels more than once
Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?
No - not edge of my seat, but it kept me interested
What does the narrators bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
Their English accents contribute to me seeing the story in my head clearly. The rainy gray skies of England made alive by their voices.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
Ladies beware!
Any additional comments?
The whole story is told thru the voices of 3 women. I don't believe a man would enjoy it very much. Their romantic fantasies are the illusions that young women suffer through.
