Historia
The boy has lived his whole life trapped within a book-choked chamber older than empires and larger than cities. The girl has been plucked from the outskirts of civilization to be trained as a librarian, studying the mysteries of the great library at the heart of her kingdom. They were never supposed to meet. But in the library, they did. Their stories spiral around each other, across worlds and time. This is a tale of truth and lies and hearts, and the blurring of one into another.

Revisado: 05-26-23
Pure Mark Lawrence in all his twisty genius. You will think you know where you are headed, but will be lead in every direction you had no idea existed. I love the surprises only readers of his other books will smile at. I loved this story.

Being an unwanted twin in the Imperial line of succession, Farilane became a scholar, adventurer, and in a time when reading was once more forbidden—a book hunter. Her singular obsession is finding the mythical Book of Brin, a tome not just lost but intentionally buried. Respected and beloved by the Teshlor Knights, not even their legendary skills can protect her for what she finds is more dangerous than what she sought.

Historia
The world changed over the past two years. It wasn’t the big bang, EMP, or comet strike so many had planned for. It was worse because it was so avoidable, like a major corporation going bankrupt out of bad decisions and neglect. When the funds dried up and all the political machinations failed, nothing remained but the people. Left to their own devices, what sprang up more resembled the Old West of the 1800s.

Post apocalyptic at its best!
Revisado: 08-06-21
I enjoyed this audiobook, it kept my attention the whole time. The characters were lifelike and Mr. Carey didn't pull any punches, people can be brutal, especially when unchecked.

Historia
America suffered blow after blow of internal strife, work stoppages, police shootings, riots, and immobilizing national discord. The riches of the country attracted international villains who eyed the country like a wealthy home with an open front door. Hit with a massive EMP strike, the West Coast from the Pacific to the Mississippi was left a wasteland of gangs, violence, and burning homes.

Scarier than King
Revisado: 05-16-21
This story has made my skin crawl several times - scary stuff! Mr. Carey is right up there with Stephen King in the "Where on earth did he come up with that" scenarios. Can't wait for the next book.

Historia
With the country slowly descending into chaos, a visionary leader takes action. Dave Cavanaugh, a silver-haired outdoorsman, mountain hiker, and billionaire, dubbed the “Richard Branson of the Rockies”, sets in motion a plan to construct walled, gated communities across the country to preserve art, science, medicine, and religion - designed to be islands of calm in a sea of chaos. Much like Noah built an ark before the great flood, Dave intends to build a series of land-based arks before the country completely drowns in chaos.

Historia
Two candidates are vying to become Chancellor of Germany. One is a patriot having served for the past 16 years, the other a usurper, stoking the flames of nationalistic hate. Both harbor secrets, but only one knows the truth about the other. They are on a collision course, all turning on the events of one fateful day - April 30, 1945 - and what happened deep beneath Berlin in the Fürherbunker. Did Adolph Hitler and Eva Braun die there? Did Martin Bormann, Hitler’s close confidant, manage to escape?

Ughhh
Revisado: 03-30-21
I will not be preordering any Steve Berry books which is sad to me because I have always looked forward to reading them, often in a day or two. When I realized the guy saying he wanted a Germany for Germans was going to be portrayed as the bad guy, I knew this book was going to be confusing. I'm so disappointed in this author, getting his political views across was more important than telling an interesting and coherent story.

Raised in the Los Angeles hinterlands by a hippie mom, Alex dropped out of school early and into a world of shady drug-dealer boyfriends, dead-end jobs, and much, much worse. In fact, by age twenty, she is the sole survivor of a horrific, unsolved multiple homicide. Some might say she’s thrown her life away. But at her hospital bed, Alex is offered a second chance: to attend one of the world’s most prestigious universities on a full ride. What’s the catch, and why her?

Edgy and dark - loved it!
Revisado: 11-29-20
I super enjoyed this book. The characters where well fleshed out, you learned their foibles as the story unfolded. The narrator was fabulous. I had no problem with the storyline changing time, it was easily recognizable what period you were in - oh, and the chapter headings made it a no brainer.

Excellent Story Telling
Revisado: 03-12-15
I love Robin Hobb - her characters are full rounded and you fall in love with them, despite all their quirks. Which is why I didn't like this story - it was hard for me to listen to all of the bad things that kept happening over and over again to the main character that I had become so fond of. I won't listen to this book again BUT I am glad I finished it.

Awesome
Revisado: 01-24-13
What made the experience of listening to Stories I Only Tell My Friends the most enjoyable?
Even if you don't know Rob Lowe his life reads like a novel, all the triumphs and downfalls of a modern day hero. And if you do know of him - you'll catch yourself saying out loud "I remember that" or "I wondered what had happened" and sometimes a whispered "I never knew."
I felt like Rob was sitting across from me sharing his stories. This was an awesome experience, I recommend it whole heartedly.
