So many of the characters sounded like robot voices. But the story was good and unfortunately too real.

Historia
Waitress and single mom Jessica “Jessie” Mann is practical to a fault. Even if she had time to date, which she doesn’t, she’d be determined to provide her son with a more secure upbringing than the one she had - and that would mean a husband with big bucks. When Jack Morrison - a sexy-as-sin, seemingly broke customer with a cowboy hat and a seductive grin - tries to flirt with her, she shoots him down.

Historia
Sarah McNeilly is a rare find in the tabloid industry. She won’t ignite gossip. She finds the truth. And for once, that’s what her boss wants. With her job on the line, Sarah’s latest assignment is to identify the elusive “Maximillian Smith,” unearth his connection to the billionaire Stone family, and dig up some dirt. Yesterday Max was an ordinary workingman, concerned with little more than the price of gas. Now he suddenly has a family, jaw-dropping wealth, and an avid (if clumsy) reporter on his trail.

Beautifully poetic
Revisado: 01-03-24
Amazing story of endurance, and beautiful example of living life in the moment. May we learn to open our eyes to all the little things we miss in our own lives. As little as noticing the folds of our skin in the crease of our arm; the blade of grass popping up in a crevice of a rock; the beauty of freshly fallen snow on a hillside; and seeing the value of every human being we come in contact with, desiring to bring healing and love into their lives. Truly beautiful.

I was entertained by this short story, however the reader read without pause, giving you no time to consider what just happened. Even a 3 second pause at times would have contributed to more stars in the performance rating.

Narrator lacked. Reading too fast and missing important pauses. Also, there was a LOT of repetition in the story. My first Danielle Steel book and quite disappointed. I expected more.

Historia
For years, rumors of the "Marsh Girl" have haunted Barkley Cove, a quiet town on the North Carolina coast. So in late 1969, when handsome Chase Andrews is found dead, the locals immediately suspect Kya Clark, the so-called Marsh Girl. But Kya is not what they say. Sensitive and intelligent, she has survived for years alone in the marsh that she calls home, finding friends in the gulls and lessons in the sand.

Real, raw and relative
Revisado: 06-14-20
Wow. The life of The Marsh Girl is a tribute to the injustices and judgements of human beings. The relation to nature and human behavior is quite astonishing. A hard truth to digest and yet I thoroughly enjoyed this book and it’s story.
