Historia
Someone has tried to kill the French president. How many snipers can shoot from three-quarters of a mile with total confidence? John Kott—a U.S. Army marksman gone bad—is one of them. After fifteen years in prison, he’s out . . . and there’s a G8 summit coming up, packed with enough world leaders to tempt any assassin.

Lee and Dick seem tired

Not as good!
Revisado: 11-06-14
Where does Personal rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
I have very much enjoyed all of the Jack Reacher novels that I've read so far, about 10, but this one just seemed to never get going. While I've usually enjoyed all of the additional details that Lee Child has provided this time it seemed and felt like it was filler. It's the same Jack and the narration by Dick Hill is consistent with previous works but this would not be up on my list of favourite Reacher novels. Not a waste of time but not as thrilling a ride as I'd come to expect.

What a difference a narrator makes

Texas Drawl?
Revisado: 10-23-14
Would you listen to Nemesis again? Why?
The narration is poorly directed. I've listened to other Jo Nesbo books and loved them. The previous narrator used a Norwegian accent when appropriate. This narrator here has given a Texas drawl to one of the characters??? So no, I wouldn't listen again, not because of the story though.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Harry for sure.

Historia
It's the early 1980s—the country is in a deep recession, and life after college is harder than ever. In the cafés on College Hill, the wised-up kids are inhaling Derrida and listening to Talking Heads. But Madeleine Hanna, dutiful English major, is writing her senior thesis on Jane Austen and George Eliot, purveyors of the marriage plot that lies at the heart of the greatest English novels.

Way less than expected!!
Revisado: 02-16-12
I expected so much more after having read, and loved, Middlesex. This was boring (mostly) too long and filled with characters that were difficult to care about. I almost gave up on it but I wasted a credit on it so I stuck it out.

Wow!
Revisado: 07-30-08
Tin Roof Blowdown was the first Dave Robicheaux novel that I listened to and Swan Peak is the second. I'm not sure who's better: James Lee Burke, the author, or Will Patton, the narrator. The combination is terrific. I can't stop recommending the author to everyone I know that enjoys great reading. I can't wait for the next in the series and just hope that Will Patton is the narrator.

One of her best.
Revisado: 06-05-08
Exquisite is a great descriptor for this audiobook. Full of real characters with real secrets that are peeled away as an onion loses it's skin. I loved the reader, the accents were wonderful. Highly recommended. I wanted my drive to and from work to be longer so that I could hear more each time.
