Historia
For GBI investigator Will Trent and medical examiner Sara Linton, McAlpine Lodge seems like the ideal getaway to celebrate their honeymoon. Set on a gorgeous, off-the-grid mountaintop property, it’s the perfect place to unplug and reconnect. Until a bone-chilling scream cuts through the night. Mercy McAlpine, the manager of the Lodge, is dead. With a vicious storm raging and the one access road to the property washed out, the murderer must be someone on the mountain. But as Will and Sara investigate the McAlpine family and the other guests, they realize that everyone here is lying.

Fantastic series!
Revisado: 03-22-25
I started this series a few weeks ago. I haven’t read many books by this author and the first one kept popping up so I finally clicked on it and got it. WOW!! It was really good.
I learned the hard way not to buy all the books in a series because inevitably I’m burned out after 3 or 4 and rarely go back and continue. So I took Will Trent one book at a time except the ones in a box set for one credit. I listened to 2 other books after I started the series - otherwise it was a constant listen from one book to the next. She is a brilliant writer because it was a different story every time and held my attention throughout. Every book was 5 stars with the same narrator for books 2-12 who should have been given 6 stars. I am thrilled that I discovered this gem of an author and I will snatch up the next Will Trent book when it’s available. In the meantime she has other books to keep me entertained. Read every book of this series with my highest recommendation.

Loved this book!
Revisado: 02-10-25
Great story with the perfect narrator! I looked at reviews after I started listening because I thought the ratings should have been better. The one star for narrator shocked me. It has always baffled me how differently we all review the books and narrators. I would hate for anyone to skip over this book because of that one review. A reader expressing more emotion would not have fit in this story. Listen to the preview before you buy. This author is fantastic, this book is fantastic and the reader is fantastic. Enjoy!

I love Nick Heller. I hope we’ll see a few more in the years ahead. I’ve enjoyed most of Finders novels at least twice. One of my favorite authors! I highly recommend all of the Nick Heller novels

A murderous sociopath, Edgler Foreman Vess, has entered the house, intent on killing everyone inside. A self-proclaimed “homicidal adventurer,” Vess lives only to satisfy all appetites as they arise, to immerse himself in sensation, to live without fear, remorse, or limits, to live with intensity. Narrator is okay
Revisado: 02-06-25
I had the book before I looked at reviews - I wouldn’t have bought it.
I started it because it looked good. I readied myself for disappointment but was presently surprised. Even trying to hear what the reviews described in detail I couldn’t find anything wrong at all! First time I haven’t agreed with reviews about awful narration. However, this book is I the reason I’ve avoided Dean Koontz. But I listened to some recently that I loved and zipped through 5 or 6 novels but not like this. If you’re a diehard Koontz fan get this book and ignore reviews. I honestly couldn’t discern what they were referring to.

Historia
Obituary writer Nadine Barbault doesn’t mind being called “Lady Death”. It suits the ice queen persona she’s cultivated to survive the fast-paced Toronto Herald. So when Nadine learns that famous (and reclusive) author Dot Voline has died, she doesn’t hesitate to run the obituary…only to discover that Dot is very much alive. Nadine’s screw-up has brought Wesley Chen of the rival Spear no end of joy—she’s been a thorn in his extremely ambitious side for years. But the renewed interest in Dot also surfaced chatter about a mysterious past scandal.

Historia
On a flight from London to Boston, Ted Severson meets the stunning and mysterious Lily Kintner. Sharing one too many martinis, the strangers begin to play a game of truth, revealing intimate details about themselves. Ted talks about his marriage that’s going stale and his wife, Miranda, who he’s sure is cheating on him. Ted and his wife were a mismatch from the start - he the rich businessman, she the artistic free spirit - a contrast that once inflamed their passion but has now become a cliché. But their game turns a little darker when Ted jokes that he could kill Miranda....

Revisado: 12-05-24
While I was thinking about the clever twist at the end and listening to the last few minutes It ended with yet another twist! I don’t think that’s a spoiler at all. This is a great story.
It started in the 1st chapter completely capturing my full attention. It’s definitely one of my best reads this year. I haven’t read this author before and this book has been in my library a long time. Now I can’t wait to get another one of his books. The narrators were excellent!! Don’t pass this one up!

Brilliant!
Revisado: 12-02-24
I don’t know how anyone would say it was predictable. I loved the entire story. The first few chapters made me wonder and I had trouble paying attention. I just kept starting over until I could listen closely enough. I’m glad I did because it set the stage for a fantastic read. The summary doesn’t come close to describing what really happened. I thought the ending was “just right”
I think I’ve listened to all of his books and will have to wait for the new ones. It is like Christmas to find an author who has so many( just about all) that I rate as 5 stars. The narrator is also superb - one of my favorites.

One of his best
Revisado: 11-23-24
The summary of this book kept me from getting it sooner. It didn’t sound at all exciting but exciting it was. Stories within stories within stories.
It had so many twists but was easy to follow. (As in most of his novels)
Narration was great too. It’s hard trying to find my next book after listening to one this good. I highly recommend this book.

The last thing Reacher can recall is the car he hitched a ride in getting run off the road. The driver was killed. Not the Jack Reacher I know
Revisado: 11-18-24
I can ditto Mr Sutton’s review. I love Scott Brick and Jack Reacher but not together. I can’t visualize the Reacher in my mind with this narrator but it’s not as bad as Tom Cruise playing Reacher. I stopped getting his books a few years back after getting 2 that were so “dark” I couldn’t enjoy them. It seems that Andrew brought about some changes and something was missing- then Dick Hill was replaced by Scott Brick and I can’t connect. I’m glad a lot of people still see the old Jack Reacher.
Lee Child developed one of the most loved characters in books world wide. I’m grateful for those many years of profound enjoyment eagerly looking forward to the next one. I’m going back through the series starting with the first novel and it’s been a lot of fun. Not sure why I got this book - maybe wishful thinking.
