Historia
Guy Montag is a fireman. In his world, where television rules and literature is on the brink of extinction, firemen start fires rather than put them out. His job is to destroy the most illegal of commodities, the printed book, along with the houses in which they are hidden. Montag never questions the destruction and ruin his actions produce, returning each day to his bland life and wife, Mildred, who spends all day with her television "family."

Love the value of the content (i.e: don't burn books even if they're bad, don't erase history). Worth comparing with the movie adaptation

Historia
It’s 1984, and life has changed beyond recognition. Airstrip One, formerly known as Great Britain, is a place where Big Brother is always watching, and nobody can hide. Except, perhaps, for Winston Smith. Whilst working at the Ministry of Truth, rewriting history, he secretly dreams of freedom. And in a world where love and sex are forbidden, where it’s hard to distinguish between friend and foe, he meets Julia and O’Brien and vows to rebel.

Performance 100%, Content -100%
Revisado: 04-02-25
Performance is amazing, but the context, content, and depiction of political science is unscientific and propagandistic. For a dystopian book better consider Farenheit 451.

Covering issues such as duty, forgiveness, brotherhood, strength in adversity and the best way to approach life and death, the Meditations have inspired thinkers, poets and politicians since their first publication more than 500 years ago. Today, the book stands as one of the great guides and companions - a cornerstone of Western thought.

Historia
Since the 19th century, people have claimed that the prosperity enjoyed by the First World was the result of its devotion to unconstrained economic freedoms. In his 2003 book Kicking Away the Ladder, South Korean economist Ha-Joon Chang claims this was not the case and that, in fact, First World economic success was due to exactly the kinds of state intervention that traditional economic thinking consistently opposes today.

I love this because it is straight forward amd simple with examples and very relatable things that most people probably know subconsciously but putting into words or '8 rules' with some examples and quotes is like a simple 101 masterclass. Highly recommend for anyone and everyone.

Must Read/Listen: A thin line between good mannerisms of communication or sociopathic manipulation.

Must Read/Listen: A thin line between good mannerisms of communication or sociopathic manipulation.
The audiobook is amazing full of examples that help understand the human mind in social settings. As a a person whom has worked in the sales field for over a decade, this audiobook is a great refresher. It is a good book that really grasps social mannerisms in great detail and with easy to understand examples.
The content of this book may unintentionally encourage sociopathic manipulation (that is not the intent at all).
Since humans are emotional beings and some are more socially immature than others, these tactics can make or break a person at another persons gain. This book should be read by more victims of sales people— than by sales people themselves. I may be an honest salesman, but most successful salesmen are not. They use these tactics to get a upper hand.
This book is a must read/listen for social sciences.
