Historia
G.K. Chesterton was described by his friend George Bernard Shaw as a "colossal genius" - which may have had a double meaning, given Chesterton's impressive size. But mostly Shaw - and T.S. Eliot, and a host of other famous friends - stood in awe of Chesterton's power as a writer and his dedication to faith. The Everlasting Man is Chesterton's view of Christianity as he stood on the outside looking in, and the book C.S. Lewis credited with bringing him closer to Christianity.

Amazing Apologetic!
Revisado: 04-14-04
I bought this audio after reading that CS Lewis credited the book with being one of the major forces is his returning to Christianity. Guess what, it did the same for me!

Historia
Considered to be the first autobiographical work in history, this timeless book is completely applicable to everyone who has experienced the struggle between good and evil in his own soul. Saint Augustine, born in Constantine in 354 C.E., was raised by a devout Christian mother. He abandoned the Christianity of his upbringing and had an illegitimate son. After hearing the sermons of Ambrose, he began his great internal struggle which led to his conversion in 387 C.E. The Confessions describe his conversion, shedding light on the questions that had troubled him on his way to the Cross. Outside Scripture it is the most famous - and perhaps the most important - of all spiritual books.

Old English Translation
Revisado: 04-14-04
This is a truly wonderful book, when read in a modern translation. Unfortunately this audio is NOT such a translation, but in Old English. I found it to be almost incomprehensible as a result, although it did motivate me to buy a book of this work in modern English, which I greatly enjoyed reading. I found this audio a real let-down!

Historia
More than a decade ago, Jerry Sittser prayed for the protection of his family, yet three of his loved ones - his daughter, his wife, and his mother - died in an automobile accident. What went wrong? When God Doesn't Answer Your Prayer takes an honest and probing look at the problem of unanswered prayer. In doing so, it draws us ever deeper into a relationship with the God who is the end of all our prayers, the object of our faith, and the one who fulfills our deepest longings.

Best Book On Prayer I've Ever Read
Revisado: 04-12-04
Although the topic is unanswered prayer, in the process of dealing with this issue Jerry Sittser ends up writing one of the best books on prayer in general I've ever read (and I've read quite a few!). Highly recommended!
