I was hoping this book would be an incitefull discussion about how future wars are likely to be fought (Cyber attack capabilities? Space Force? or even a discussion of whats possible) so it was a dissapointing discussion as a 20 year USAF vet myself. However, the last half of the book is alot of introspective discussion of what became a lot of opinion about the future direction and whats flawed about the current DoD machine. Not the book I was hoping it would be.

I paid to hear the wisdom and words of Dave Ramsey; not his daughters account of her fathers wisdom. Sorry, I couldnt make it past the first 15 minutes, you absolutely lost me.

I knew the name, and now I feel like I have some insite into the person. Ted's account of the quality of the musicians he worked with really raises my level of respect for them. I would have been really interested to hear Teds take on the current music industry thats more interested in singles than a relationship that can grow a musician or band. i'd describe the current state of the music industry as tragic, and overwhelmingly full of talentless "artists" that are fully created in a studio artificially.

if you want a to listen to someone tell you their a "reformed progressive", then you realize they achieved their success and public voice very young through supporting a progressive message, then you might understand why i'm not going to bother finishing this book - too progressive based. Here's the message, the best society is one where the citizens are free from outdated norms, and whats right, wrong or immoral is only what you believe it should be. I'm sorry, you lost me, i've lived too long to think this ends well, it just creates confusion and chao's when young people are seeking concrete advice. Its no wonder young people don't know what traditions to follow because they've all been watered down, commercialized and reborn into something thats garbage based on this tkind of thinking. If you were interested in talking about truth why didnt you just say this about marriage: the concept of Marriage was created and is clearly discribed in the Bible, its a religous based agreement between a man, woman and God; period, -end of story. Why else do weddings take place with a member of the clergy? traditionally in a house of worship? It doesn't matter if your a Christian, believer or non believer- those are the roots and definition of Marriage. Why is that so hard to admit? in less than 2 generations, marriage has been turned into whatever the he'll you want it to be based on whatever moral or ethical code you decide to fabricate or let others fabricate for you. Just one example, not exclusive, to why I'm not listening any further to your take on a number of issues...

This is a book about as unexciting as a career as you would imagine a career lawyer having. There is way too much time dedicated to describing fellow colleagues characteristics than actually the day to day happenings; in a word BORING. I lost more and more hope that this would turn into something meaningful as time went on. Honestly, I got neither entertainment, knowledge, or inspiration from listening to his recount of a 30 year career as a CIA lawyer. I could have written a more interesting account of my 20 years serving as an enlisted person in the USAF.
