Gracious use of language and story
Revisado: 08-21-23
This is a mesmerizing story written with deep heart-felt meaning and a rich gracious understanding of language and emotion. It’s so well written it should be read! Not merely experienced by listening. Claire Foy makes the listening so enjoyable - she is absolutely captivating as a narrator!

Best of Lisa Jewell
Revisado: 12-06-22
I’ve listened to almost every one of Jewell’s books that are available on audible. I’ve really enjoyed several but this one was by far the one I will treasure. Her development of the story, the characters - all of it - the way the pieces all fell into place. It was the one I was saddest to end and will listen to it again I’m certain. It was magnificent.

Historia
In the early hours of a summer morning, a young woman steps into the path of an oncoming bus. A tragic accident? Or suicide? At the center of this puzzle is Adrian Wolfe, a successful architect and grief-stricken widower, who, a year after his third wife's death, begins to investigate the cause. As Adrian looks back on their brief but seemingly happy marriage, disturbing secrets begin to surface. The divorces from his two previous wives had been amicable, or so it seemed; his children, all five of them, were resilient as ever, or so he thought.

Not my favorite
Revisado: 08-08-22
I’m a huge fan of Jewell, however, this story was very slow at the beginning and the voices for the children were almost intolerable. They were awful - I love her female narrators but this male did an awful job with the different voices.
There were so many characters I finally quit trying to keep track and just listened for the story line. I’m so sorry to be such a downer because as I said I’m a huge fan of Lisa Jewell. I still remain a loyal fan.
