A great in depth look at 2007 and most of TC’s career. You get a lot more details than NFL films gives along with a history lesson about TC.

As someone who had already read story Lockdown and Dirty, I was happy to find out that it was in an audio book format recently. Guy White wrote a story that took a believable situation, give it a twist of unbelief, but shakes it up enough that you think that everything happens is just a logical and simple conclusion. He builds up the storytelling and character development of Leah and Andy that it engrosses you into the story, making it a true romantic and erotic tale.

Now add Adara Astin's vocal talents to the mix and you get blown out of the water by the narrative as they construct a perfect range of characterization, emotion, heat, lust, and tenderness into the characters that bring them further to life.

This isn't just your one off audio that allows you to, ehem, get things done. This is a story you'll come back to because the combination of White and Astin's talents make it more than that, that either you'll enjoy the presentation, or continue to get things done with every re-listen.

I don't mean the next line as an insult.

Sometimes I go to sleep to this book. Kevin's voice while reading his book can be so much of a calming presence (except for his experience with Southwest Airlines) that it is like listening to an extended podcast episode that I may have relistened to (such as the first few episodes of Jay and Silent Bob Get Old). It is a look back to show what a Jersey boy can accomplish and makes this Jersey boy do things that I can accomplish because if Fat (now skinny) Kevin Smith can do it, why can't I?

Thank you Kev, we need book 2.

This is an amazing start with the series (and there is at least one LevelUp easter egg I found, 2 depending on timeline). Sharmila brings great vocal variety to the characters between Jamie, Beth, Bella, and Samantha along with other spoilerific characters that I won't mention. Samantha is currently my favorite character but I have a feeling that [possible future spoilers retracted].

If I was amiss of anything is that I did listen to this without the rest of the series coming out because I want more in my bloodstream now.

It is a privilege to be the first Audible review of this book, at least it seems that way.

In essence, this isn't about the book, it's about the series as a whole because I don't think I have the ability just to keep it to this book.

I don't try new things often, including books. I like to keep to my old standbys because i know what to expect and it is comforting.

I told myself when Book 5 came out on audiobook, I would then start the series because I don't like reading. If i can't be physically comfortable with a book I can't enjoy the book. I was forced to follow through when the author promoted one free code for the first audiobook.

This isn't just erotic fiction. I don't expect erotic fiction to hit every single emotion I can think of.

(granted fear was more "You better not be doing what I think you're going to do Alexa... you better NOT do it... GDI Alexa" - say that out loud enough times, your roommates hope your "new Alexa" isn't going to screw with the internet.)

The 5 books show how a novella series works instead of it just being one book. If this was one book the constant up and down and up and down would start to kill you, but each book has it's own structure.... even if they do have cliffhanger. This allowed the story as a whole not to have any balance issues. All of those emotions are woven in a way not to overcharge any one emotion (except personally for me the awkwardness in book one during the first two chapters), so you were able to make sure to have the ups and downs along with sexy interludes.

Then there is Sharmila Devar.

The wonderful display of her voice pulling the emotion and forcing your ear to listen to it, causing it to sometimes skip your brain and go right to the heart. The series with her as the voice was a masterstroke. She was great at the vocal definition of the characters, both male and female that it allowed you to get immersed in the story. Sometimes an accent or a way a character speaks in an audiobook might sound jarring or a bit confusing, but she is an exemplar of her profession. She broke the mold and now when I listen to new audiobooks she's set the gold standard to what I expect.

I may actually buy other authors audiobooks because her name is on it as narrator.

Now if you excuse me, I'm going to have to take a long cold shower after basically binge listening 5 books.

It is hard to review without spoilers, but I will try the best I can especially since I already started book 3 before writing this.

New and old players are added to the sexual craziness in Dylan's life... adding to the mix goth girls and pigtails.

Alexa has done a wonderful job crafting believable characters in an emotional labor sense. The women are strong and capable, but all the characters (including the men) leave a vulnerability that to me really turns the book into erotica and not porn with a plot. I'm not talking about sexual vulnerabilities either, but personal ones. The characters actually learn about one another and not just use each other as sex toys to get off on so strings are attaching...unless pigtails are involved.

Besides the character aspects, the game design talk and discussion is nerdy enough to keep me interested in the nerdy stuff, especially when it helps to shine a light on a character that barely had much the first book.

I love that the book has more playing on boundaries and thoughts and conversations about safe sex, because it brings the relationship type realism to the next level.

Also, Hulk needs to get smashed, repeatedly, between the legs, with Mjölnir. I would prefer it to be done by Janie or Lexie.

Once again Sharmila Devar outdoes herself bringing life and interest to the characters that either had very few lines in the first book or the brand new characters in this one. The personalities of the women are written strongly and she is able to pull out all their strengths. She also makes sure that the vulnerabilities and flaws shine for all of the characters.. I love the voice of the new character (however I'm biased because I like the image of the new character).

I need to get this out of the way... and it's the only remote spoiler...ALEXA WHY THIS CLIFFHANGER?!?!? WHY?!? IS THIS SO I WAS FORCED TO IMMEDIATELY BUY BOOK 3?!?!

Oh god, people are going to die. I hope someone fixes this with polyamory.... though Dani and June might have a Polyarmory in their apartment.

Fight through the awkward!

Revisado: 09-10-20

I am not a fan of humor or situations in my media that make me feel awkward. People that enjoy the Office or Parks and Rec... well I'm not one of those people. Sometimes realism is very painful and you can't get away from it. I want my media to get away from it.

Double down on the fact that I am a gamer, a geek, and a Tupac fan.

The first five chapters of Level Up: Level One - Headshot landed critical blows on every one of my various awkwardness triggers to the point that the combination mindsets of Dylan and Jason made me think of the meme "I'm in this picture and I don't' like it" and felt I was being personally attacked by the relatable content.

Then chapter 6 started and started to stretch my disbelief and it dawned on me.

I'm listening to an erotic story.

I should have had my disbelief stretched and shattered from the beginning.

You can't walk into erotica with the same mindset as other books because of the nature of the beast. It allows situations to transpire that in many cases wouldn't, and you felt that with the reactions of the main character in Chapter 6 because even they were like "What's going on here?!?!"

So relistening to the story from the beginning made me look at the whole thing with different eyes and a different perspective. With the new outlook, my only breaking of the suspension fo disbelief was the size of the game theory class. Honestly, this is a tale of a character that decided to do the right thing and is getting rewarded for it. I'm so am predicting heartbreak and sadness and other shenanigans in the future books but this was a well-crafted tale from beginning to end.

Alexa, like any DM or storyteller, is playing the long game with her series, and like any player who occasionally dabbles in DMing, it is wonderful to see someone who is invested in the craft and make sure everyone enjoys themselves.

Sharmila Devar did a wonderful job with the cast of characters presented. When things got hot it came through in a sultry, smoky voice that fit the motif of everything that was going on, even when the characters weren't sure exactly what was happening. She was able to take the character awkwardness and keep everything sexy so it didn't detract from the scenes themselves. The excitement and nervousness from the male characters she portrayed were top notch and I really felt what the characters Jason and Dylan were feeling during the story. Her portrayal of Suzy, Stacy, June, Dani, Janie brought out the depth of the writing to each of the characters' distinct personalities.

This is a wonderful first edition of the audio series and I can't wait to listen to more.

Providence Paranormal College series on audiobook. The narrator's voice is youthful enough to bring out characteristics in these college aged supernaturals that fit the overall theme. The narrator mixes proper inflections with both Josh and Nox to make everything in the story more fulfilling. The book is fast paced with how the plot is pushed through so you're always moving and getting to the next part, however it seeds other stories in the future (as I've learned with the previous two books). It is a great change for a series where you're not just following the same characters around or trying to shove 30 points of view in one book.
