Historia
The Moon will soon return. Whether this heralds the destruction of humankind or something worse will depend on two women. Essun has inherited the power of Alabaster Tenring. With it, she hopes to find her daughter Nassun and forge a world in which every orogene child can grow up safe. For Nassun, her mother's mastery of the Obelisk Gate comes too late. She has seen the evil of the world, and accepted what her mother will not admit: That sometimes what is corrupt cannot be cleansed, only destroyed.

Lost interest, but finished because I was invested
Revisado: 07-22-21
I struggled to get into the story and then when I finally did, lost interest during the second book. The core idea was awesome, but the story itself felt dragged out and redundant. Everything and everyone is horrible, I get it. This last book was very anticlimactic and confusing and then after slogging through chapters of mundane details, a rushed wrap up.

Redundant...
Revisado: 01-18-19
I’m not sure if this is more noticeable because I’m listening to the audiobook—but it is so redundant and I’m having trouble getting through it.
I feel like he is trying to sell me in a book that I’ve already purchased over and over.
I’m on Chapter 7 and so far all I’ve learned is that Hal has overcome a lot, 95% of people are struggling, and that at some point in the future, I’m going to learn something about mornings that will change my life. Eventually....

Historia
Like her classmates, builder Iggy and inventor Rosie, scientist Ada, a character of color, has a boundless imagination and has always been hopelessly curious. Why are there pointy things stuck to a rose? Why are there hairs growing inside your nose? When her house fills with a horrific, toe-curling smell, Ada knows it's up to her to find the source. Not afraid of failure, she embarks on a fact-finding mission and conducts scientific experiments, all in the name of discovery.

What’s with the music?
Revisado: 09-23-18
We have this book at home and my kids love it. I bought it to listen to in the car, but it hurts my brain. For some reason they felt the need to loop super redundant music in the background. It totally ruins he cadence of the book.

Eh... not what I was expecting.
Revisado: 03-20-15
This book was good, but not really what I was expecting. I can present in front of small groups, but have terrible public speaking anxiety. I'm now at the level where it will be a major limiting factor in my career advancement. The title made me think that this would be a book about public speaking, where in reality it was more of a business communications 101. There were definitely some interesting points, but I feel this book would be best for someone who is interested in improving their overall communication style or are early in their career.
