Realistic story
Revisado: 09-28-21
Sometimes your future is written when you're young. I feel that Billy really didn't get a fair shake early on and no one to push him to do better. He might have done better staying in the military but all his friends were gone.
He was an example of good and bad. He realized who he was at the end but was able to change the life of a young woman.
way different from Stephen King's usual writings.

Loneliness is unbearable
Revisado: 05-09-20
Quirky characters fill this story of a small town Waverly and the Monster of Waverly, a man burned as a boy who becomes a recluse and hides his disfigurement. Along comes Iris, a lonely nurse who recognizes a kindred spirit, who hopes to draw Louis out of his self-imposed exile. The story includes loss and growing older.

Historia
In the middle of the night, in a house on a quiet street in suburban Minneapolis, intruders silently murder Luke Ellis' parents and load him into a black SUV. The operation takes less than two minutes. Luke will wake up at The Institute, in a room that looks just like his own, except there's no window. And outside his door are other doors, behind which are other kids with special talents - telekinesis and telepathy - who got to this place the same way Luke did: Kalisha, Nick, George, Iris, and 10-year-old Avery Dixon.

Ballard kicks him out but then checks into the case herself, and it brings a deep tug of empathy and anger. Bosch is investigating the death of 15-year-old Daisy Clayton, a runaway on the streets of Hollywood who was brutally murdered and her body left in a dumpster like so much trash. Now, Ballard joins forces with Bosch.

Historia
An 11-year-old boy's violated corpse is found in a town park. Eyewitnesses and fingerprints point unmistakably to one of Flint City's most popular citizens. He is Terry Maitland, Little League coach, English teacher, husband, and father of two girls. Detective Ralph Anderson, whose son Maitland once coached, orders a quick and very public arrest. Maitland has an alibi, but Anderson and the district attorney soon add DNA evidence to go with the fingerprints and witnesses. Their case seems ironclad.

Historia
In a future so real and near it might be now, something happens when women go to sleep: They become shrouded in a cocoon-like gauze. If they are awakened, if the gauze wrapping their bodies is disturbed or violated, the women become feral and spectacularly violent; and while they sleep they go to another place.... The men of our world are abandoned, left to their increasingly primal devices. One woman, however, the mysterious Evie, is immune to the blessing or curse of the sleeping disease.

Timely story for those in the Women's March
Revisado: 11-13-17
A very timely story after the disenfranchisement of our first woman presidential candidate and the subsequent Women's March and MeToo Movement. Women have had it with the mansplaining. Women around the world are falling into a protective cocoon as soon as they fall asleep and Men are not happy. Women band together and men want to fight, which seems a typical response. This shows the power women hold and decisions to use it effectively. “AUDIBLE 20 REVIEW SWEEPSTAKES ENTRY”
