Wonderful insight

David Mitchell is a Comedian. Yet this book offered a great quick and dirty overview of England’s royal history. But the modern insight and willingness to poke at a serious history with irreverent and often appropriate commentary is value added that you won’t find elsewhere. Incredibly funny and thus engaging, it got this ungrateful colonial through a lot of interesting national history.

A standout story

I have gone through a lot of 40K books and many stories sort of regress to the mean. This one stands out. The characters seemed to have a little more pop and the story itself was fun and engaging. The Dark Angels are better when they aren’t so inwardly focused. This was a fun story! Worth your credit.

Solid entry, if uneven in spots

This is a good black library entry where the threads are all tied together in the end. It is meant as an opening salvo in what will be a long and brutal conflict between hive fleet leviathan and the imperium. While some threads are more interesting than others it is still a satisfying listen.

Good Lore

I really enjoyed this book. Having read or listened to many Adepta Sororitas books I can say that the feel for the chapter and the 40K universe is alive and well in this rendition. Good characters and details.

Thoroughly enjoyed the Lion! This is 40K at its finest. They do a great job of developing a character. The Lion has depth and he is surprising in a lot of good ways. This book is enjoyable to listen to but it really pushes the narrative of 40K. If you like the lore you can’t miss this one.

Excellent Sequel

New Format, Still Fun.

This is a great new format which at times seems a little over produced with a few of the actors either giving too much or not enough but that is the worst thing I could say about this otherwise stellar addition to the skippyverse. In fact I think Kate Mulgrew should be allowed to permanently be the voice of Nagatha. They should go back and put her in every book. It is fun, it is not too long, it is more than worth your credit!
