Historia
To the wider world, Al Pacino exploded onto the scene like a supernova. He landed his first leading role, in The Panic in Needle Park, in 1971, and by 1975, he had starred in four movies—The Godfather and The Godfather Part II, Serpico, and Dog Day Afternoon—that were not just successes but landmarks in the history of film. Those performances became legendary and changed his life forever. Not since Marlon Brando and James Dean in the late 1950s had an actor landed in the culture with such force.

AL TELLS HIS STORY… from young boy to man in his 80’s
Revisado: 12-10-24
Absolutely mesmerising autobiographical journey read by the author - in great detail, full of anecdotes and sometimes he head off in tangent directions but it’s always enjoyable and highly entertaining. Very unique story from a one of a kind acting legend.

Historia
There aren't many people who can say they've been the thirty-first man on the pitch during a World Cup humdinger, Grand Slam decider or Premiership and European Cup final; listened to the sobs of a 20-stone prop as he tries to belt out his national anthem; heard the crunch of bones after some of the mightiest hits known to the game; or been yards away from the greatest players of the last twenty years, doing almost impossible things with a rugby ball - especially when you're a working-class lad from the Forest of Dean, wondering how you ever got there in the first place.

Historia
When André de Ruyter took over as Eskom CEO in January 2020, he quickly realised why it was considered the toughest job in South Africa. Aside from neglected equipment, ageing power stations and an eroded skills base, he discovered that Eskom was crippled by corruption on a staggering scale. De Ruyter takes the listener inside the boardrooms and government meetings where South Africa’s future is shaped, with ministers often pulling in conflicting directions, and candidly reflects on his three years at the power utility.

The High Highs & Low Lows of being Matthew Perry
Revisado: 11-01-22
This is an absolutely fascinating tell all story. As a massive fan of the actor and his character on Friends, it exceeded my expectations. The depth he goes into explaining his high highs and low lows - and hitting rock bottom and then going through rock bottom - is gut wrenching and heart breaking. Never knew how shocking his addiction was nor his ability to hide it and still perform. 10/10
