Historia
Few that know Mary Grothe today would guess that her childhood was traumatic. That she was raised by an alcoholic mother and abusive father in a filthy house, where tar dripped down the walls from the profusion of cigarette smoke. That at fourteen she watched her childhood auctioned off beneath a big top before fleeing town as a result of her parents’ criminal mistakes. Or that dance, her original love and ticket to freedom, would be taken from her in an instant

This book came into my life at the perfect time...

I first met Mary as part of a weekly group I participate it. Mary joined and shared her story and as a follow-up she was kind enough to spend 30 minutes with me chatting about her story and our shared careers. This book is a great combination of a sales/sales management read and one of faith. I felt a great connection to Mary's story as a business woman and then entrepreneur. The struggles and triumphs she shares are real and very relatable which I appreciated as I read the book. The faith based topics don't come off as "preachy" at all. Mary's discussion of faith comes back time and again as to how she was being pursued, and that hit home with me. Mary is also a person who you can connect with. I have personally benefitted from her thoughts and insights and look forward to doing so moving forward. This is for sure a book I will read multiple times for the business insight and how it will keep me grounded. Thanks for sharing your story Mary!
