Loved this one. The story was incredible. So creative and compelling. I’ve actually listened to it many times at this point! I loved the narrator as well. Definitely one of the top narrators IMO!

Quality kids’ book for learning and for family time!

This is a great book for anyone who not only wants to spend more quality time with their kiddos but also help their kids improve in spelling. I highly recommend it! We had such a blast making this a fun game for the family to enjoy together, and the kids had fun too! The narrator is great, the spelling words are well timed and relevant to their respective grades. Overall excellent book!

Not a fan of the narration

Part of the reason I purchased this book was because it is narrated by Rachel McAdams. I had high hopes for her performance, but it was really disappointing. It sounded exactly like it was being read…not performed.

This has always been one of my favorite children’s stories. I’d never listened to it before, but I wasn’t disappointed. I really enjoyed the narrator. It sounded a little old-fashioned, but for me, it worked for this book.

Would you try another book from Jim Bernheimer and/or Christine Padovan?
I'd read the second book in the spirals of destiny series. I definitely wouldn't listen to it if Christine Padovan were reading. I have absolutely no desire to listen to another book she reads. Ever.
What didn’t you like about Christine Padovan’s performance?
Christine Padovan's performance was way too mechanical, extremely forced, and completely unconvincing. It was very amateur. Her awful performance kept wrenching me out of the action, and it's a credit to Jim Bernheimer's story--which was very good--that I suffered through her reading for the entire book.
