Didn’t enjoy this one as much

There were too many pulling crap out of his ass moments for me. I’m not going to ruin this for anyone who likes it bc it is pretty good. There are so many bad litrpgs to ask others to stop. The narrator is amazing of course. Hope this series gets a plot.

Pretty generic

This would be for young adults if it didn’t have a few needless curse words. Main character is a blank slate. We literally learn nothing about him and he has three lines 8hrs in. Standard litrpg tropes with no spins. Repetitive fights with repetitive monsters. System based skills.

There was a lot that went great with this book. But it did turn into a slice of life. Unless the author can get the characters a will to power, it will continue to be a slice of life.

Decent first book

It’s a broken system or cheat code isekai. It’s fine as long as it doesn’t run too long. I hope this series only has a couple more books. But it was well done and the main character was pretty good. Although with other people he gets a little weird.

Love the concept

I love the premise. I was very excited. But there is a reason I don’t read D Krout. Long chapters that could have been replaced with a paragraph. Long conversations of unfunny banter. Puns that I never got. I don’t even think some of them were puns. 3 years in an alt world would have left the dude really messed up. But the only thing we get is long painful moments where he doesn’t want to tell them he ate people. Also we never get any feeling he’s experienced. Oh well. So sad. So much promise.

So many litrpg s devolve into crap. It’s easy to create a premise and concept, much harder to carry it out. This one has turned into a long fantasy about being kind and treating people with respect. It’s incoherent. Author seems to find great pleasure in having Jake trick people and then using the god’s power to exact ‘justice’. We all love it when op mc gives it to the jerks, but this moralizing is nauseous. And takes up long passages. This isn’t a bad as hwfwm which also turned into some hippie fantasy. But In the face of cosmic horrors, there is no social justice. It’s incapable with the genre. We are all bugs, just praying not to get stepped on. No one has time to worry about democracy or any other modern cause.
