What the *** kind of ending is that?? 100% refunding
Revisado: 02-02-24
if I knew it was going to have some ridiculous and stupid ending I wouldn't have even started. the ending doesn't even fit the tone of the book, the book is hilarious it's funny so why that ending? his wife LEAVES him because he kissed a lady meanwhile she WILLINGLY married another man behind his back and was being screwed by him. That's the ending?? We travel across 4 huge books SPECIFICALLY about him trying to find them rescue his wife to be with her because he loves her, he went through so much and the ending is she divorces him 5 minutes after they meet? then he chases her like a puppy dog happy to get her scraps of attention saying all he wants is to be able to at least talk to her? Our guy can't man the hell up or point out her huge contradiction with her illicit marriage because he's so submissive all of a sudden? it's like the author wanted to shock the readers by being edgy "you thought they were gonna be together...but guess what?? they are not! Haha, edgy right?!" I'd be happier if he died protecting her and his kid than knowing he was reduced to this submissive begger after getting dumped by the woman who cheated on HIM but he gets blamed for a kiss. But I'm no writer so what do I know right? though it seems many people even the majority of people agree this ending was dumb ASF and forced out of nowhere.

I ALWAYS come back
Revisado: 10-21-23
People's attention span is at the lowest it's ever been in history, so it doesn't surprise me when people can't appreciate poetic art if it's not chewed up and spat out for them to digest. I say this because so many people say the author rambles during "boring parts where nothing happens". people these days want a sword fight on every single page, they want sex and killing every third page, there is nothing wrong with there being scenes with "nothing happening" because this builds our characters and our world and it is NOT bad, there is a very famous book I can mention that fits that description more than this book does. I have read all the giants of fantasy, name them and I have read them, I read about 1 book a week in average sometimes more, so when I tell you this is my absolute favorite book (and series) of all time, you should not take that lightly. There is plenty of action and characters you will grow to care deeply about, the author does not "talk too much", you just have the same attention span as the majority of the population. Reminds me of the movie Idiocracy. Don't blame the author because you need instant gratification like the average phone screen addict.

voice actor changes never easy for anyone
Revisado: 05-04-23
it's not fair to say the voice actors are bad, they aren't. at all. the voice actor for kip is great, but the voice does not fit kip and I'm not saying that because it's different from the last, I would have thought it didn't fit in the first books too. his performance is awesome though and normally I won't listen when voice actors are changed but the fact that I stayed should speak for the actors talents, but changing voices on listeners is never easy on anyone including the new voice actors who have to listen to people complain when they are just doing their job and giving their all it isn't fair to blame those guys!! Great book and ending!!

Awesome, loved it. worth the wait
Revisado: 02-24-23
Spoilers: I loved it, I loved everything in the book except one thing, like someone else said it was SO frustrating reading fens story, I won't lie I almost returned the book for my credit back, fen supposedly doesn't let people in easily, we've been told that nearly ever one of her chapters since book 1, she loves aren and aren loves her, yet she let this dude in (who had completely disrespected her infront of a crowd) and let him bang her after a few weeks? I thought she doesn't let people in?? and like someone said, also frustrated fen and aren didn't even talk about it and give us any meaning. if fen wants to choose someone else then fine, but she kept saying to herself how in love she is with aren still? I just don't think it fit her character at all to get pregnant by a guy after a few weeks and be all proud of it, but still not getting with aren even though they love each other, and how can they be in love for 3 years and neither of them said one single thing one time, but that guy gets her in weeks VS arens 3 years? I'm just ranting at this point but it was SO hard to read that because it went against every thing we've been told about the reclusive fen and her love for aren, the only reason I didn't return it like I wanted to was because I can't do the returns in my phone and I was at work away from my PC, so I listened and ended up getting hooked in everything else that wasn't to do with fen. this all sounds bad but that's the ONLY thing I didn't like about the book and everything else was awesome and had amazing writing, he really is one of the best authors I know of and I love his plots within plots and his many MANY twists and turns. and not cheap twists and turns either, like deeply well thought out twists that are genius on their own but he pulls it off multiple times. Great book, worth buying, don't get invested in fen though you can skip all her chapters and would probably enjoy the book more if you did!

Another amazing series by Tad
Revisado: 11-14-22
Ignore the bad reviews, attention span of the population is less than that of a goldfish, people need a sword fight on every single page to pay attention, which lowers the quality of a book. This book is perfect written by someone from a generation where people had a greater attention span and more appreciation. Awesome book again!

Who left the bad reviews and why??
Revisado: 11-02-22
This book is a banger. Easily up there with the greats. I put reading this book off for a year because of the bad reviews. I am a fool for that. Now it makes me remember, I read the attention span of Americans (and any modern culture) is less than that of a goldfish LOL and with TikTok taking over it goes to show how short the attention span is. Tad comes from a generation where you actually had to read, people want a sword fight every other page and other false filler "action" designed to make you go "ooo hurrrdurrrr he fight wit da sword" and anything that doesn't deliver that false artificial "action" they call slow or boring. it's not slow, it's not boring, you are just a zombie that can't pay attention. Great book, pick it up and ignore these other fools. Starting book 2 now.

How have I never heard of this author and book??
Revisado: 09-08-22
Amazing, wow, in every single way. I am extremely picky when it comes to my fantasy books, it takes me weeks to pick a single book and it has to fit perfectly what I want or I won't finish it. This book gave me everything I want in a fantasy book.. I devoured the book in a day, just couldn't stop.
Also, I hate how Arabs are portrayed in fantasy books, always these crazy brown people savages that the white people need to teach manners to, but this guy does Arabs justice and makes Arabs just as good and just as BAD as everyone else
