Historia
Richard K. Morgan has received widespread praise for his astounding 25th-century novels featuring Takeshi Kovacs, and has established a growing legion of fans. Mixing classic noir sensibilities with a searing futuristic vision of an age when death is nearly meaningless, Morgan returns to his saga of betrayal, mystery, and revenge, as Takeshi Kovacs, in one fatal moment, joins forces with a mysterious woman who may have the power to shatter Harlan's World forever.

Feels like a fan fiction.

The first two parts were fantastic in terms of of writing, world building and pure action. This third one is just… odd in how much it’s different.

Historia
There have always been whispers. Legends. The warrior who cannot be killed. Who’s seen a thousand civilizations rise and fall. He has had many names: Unute, Child of Lightning, Death himself. These days, he’s known simply as “B.” And he wants to be able to die. In the present day, a U.S. black-ops group has promised him they can help with that. And all he needs to do is help them in return. But when an all-too-mortal soldier comes back to life, the impossible event ultimately points toward a force even more mysterious than B himself. One at least as strong. And one with a plan all its own.

An interesting take on immorality
Revisado: 11-18-24
I’ll probably jump to read the comic books now, I was interested in reading this due to China’s involvement. The book could have been a bit shorter, but overall it’s interesting and a good fun.

Historia
After a traumatic incident, Aster's blood work comes back with some unusual readings. Unsurprising, as she’s the last of an alien race called the Kibsu, though she doesn’t know it. She becomes the focus of a hunt, with her mortal enemies, the Trackers, on one side, and the American government on the other. But help has come from a most unexpected quarter. Whoever finds her first, it won’t be good news for Aster. Or for the world!

Well that’s a twist I didn’t think about. I love where he took the story and the final episode is a fan service but a nice one. Overall great trilogy. And both of his trilogies are worth reading.

Sylvain Neuvel has a theme and he marvels at it
Revisado: 12-26-22
Turning historical facts, and scientific ideas into a goldmine of a story and doing so while exploring obscure made up civilizations is something Neuvel is doing so so well.
I couldn’t stop listening to this first book (which I came to read after plowing through The Themis Files) and I’m stopping to write this before diving into the second book.
The performance in the audiobook is fantastic and adds so much life to the world Neuvel created.

Still holds
Revisado: 12-07-22
I read this one years ago and I remembered the WTF moments vividly. They still are WTF moments, but now hold a different kind of fascination for me.
Some parts are dated: the sex scenes, the info dump at the end, but the story and ideas work and they are fun.
I finished it, and I forgot how sad the book is. It surprised me and I guess that is part of the magic.

A fun and exciting story
Revisado: 03-27-20
This is a different kind of story. It has the flair of action that Sanderson knows how to create.m and in general it focuses on a very specific experience.
Basically it’s “The Boys” but darker and it’s more about people and their choices and less about “cool factor”.
Great read.

Historia
When H. G. Wells first published The War of The Worlds in 1898, the novel quickly became a sci-fi classic. The story of extraterrestrials from Mars invading Earth captured the public’s imagination, inspiring a famed 1938 radio broadcast with Orson Welles, several feature films, countless video games, and a best-selling musical concept album by Jeff Wayne in 1978, among others.
