If someone were to paint a picture of God’s mighty army arising, I think you’d see mamas pushing strollers, babies with rattles in their hands. You’d see little old ladies with false teeth in their mouths. You’d see the outcasts, the castaways, and those who have been written off by society as not being able to contribute anything of value. You’d see ex-prostitutes, ex-pimps, and ex-addicts. Because, when God was looking for a man to stand in the gap and make up the hedge, they were the ones who answered the call.

Bella makes it out New Orleans just moments after the levees broke. His fake paternity suits, fights on and off the basketball court, fights that always somehow seemed to center around Bella. Then there were the legal fees, the payouts, and the groupies. They made it through all of that. But when Bella brings home a child by another man, even one that Joshua truly adores, this couple can't quite seem to overcome that.
