I am a big fan of fantasy, so the title caught my attention immediately. This book delivers very well the common archetypes and storytelling that come with a Medieval knights tale with a satisfyingly silly twist at the end.

If you are looking for a funny story where everyone gets to live happily ever after, then this is the book for you.

This third installment of the Luella Winthrop Trilogy continues to follow Luella and Co. as they try to solve the problems of magical illnesses, magical memory loss, and evading the law that misunderstands exactly what is going on.This book has an ability to make commonplace things like familial love and loyalty into things of magic. There are repeating themes of:
-what it means to be human
-love is not a thing you deserve, it's a thing you give
-caring about someone just means you have a heart
-fears can be overcome when you choose to lean on those that love you instead of pushing them away

It picks up right back where the last novel ended, so it is great as an immediate follow-up rather than a read to come back to. The action ends before the end of the book, but the ending is worth it, as it ties up all the loose ends. Altogether, this was a great historical fiction/fantasy read!

This was a great sequel to The Crimson Inkwell! I love the voice acting from Naomi Rose-Mock, especially the song parts. It's easy to tell who is speaking during the narration and their moods. :)

The story itself had me on edge to find out what was coming next. It seems like theres a cure and then... something new happens! It delves even further into the magic and even some lore behind it, which I appreciate. There's plenty of romance and a lot of it is so warm and sweet. Also, I really enjoyed the use of a magic book in addition to the inkwell and pen from the first book.

I'm excited to know how this trilogy ends!

I thoroughly enjoy this book! This is my second time reading it, as I previously read the ebook version. I loved the voice acting that really brought the characters to life!

I received free access to this audiobook from the author for an honest review.

I genuinely enjoyed this book. I love tales that include magic, especially when it involves integrating it with everyday life. While it does contain a love triangle that is essential to the storyline, Luella's decisions are also based economic factors, her family's reactions, and righting wrongs, which I appreciate. I also really enjoyed the narration! It was easy to tell when the different character's were speaking, even if I paused it and came back to it later. I am absolutely going to check out other books narrated by Naomi Rose-Mock!

Luella Winthrop is a journalist who gets the opportunity to use magic in order to achieve her life goals. Along the way, she finds out that using magic is often like the wishes from a genie... you often end up regretting what you asked for and have no easy way to undo what you've just messed up. Luella has to live with the consequences of her decisions and do a lot of work to decide who she can trust. It was a little predictable, so I don't want to give it a full 5 stars, but I would reccomend this book to those who like stories with fantastical twists!
