Historia
In 1954, 63-year-old Maine farmer Annie Wilkins embarked on an impossible journey. She had no money and no family, she had just lost her farm, and her doctor had given her only two years to live. But Annie wanted to see the Pacific Ocean before she died. She ignored her doctor’s advice to move into the county charity home. Instead, she bought a cast-off brown gelding named Tarzan, donned men’s dungarees, and headed south in mid-November, hoping to beat the snow.

Historia
Beverly Lewis, one of the top-selling inspirational writers in the world, has received widespread praise and several Silver Angel Awards for her moving, inspirational works. The Covenant, set in rural Pennsylvania, paints a detailed portrait of Amish traditions. As two sisters reach courting age, their thoughts reflect the promises life holds out to them, and the decisions that will govern their paths. The mixture of faith and heritage in this novel is as fascinating as it is soul-stirring.

I loved this book so much, couldn't wait to read the next one and the next one and the next one in the series! All the answers come at the end - all the while telling a wonderful story! I hated to see the series end.

Favorite Series Ever - Sad to see it end!
Revisado: 04-04-24
I have read so many of Beverly Lewis' books recently and this entire series is my favorite so far - and that is saying a lot because I have not read a book of hers that I have not liked or loved. Each and every book in Abram's Daughters was hard to stop listening to! When I couldn't listen I was reading it on my kindle - so went through the series very fast. I will miss all the characters and all the books now that I have finished. This book was the perfect ending and revealed all the secrets and back stories - I just didn't want it to end. If you only read this book you will miss a lot - so go back and read all other 4 books.

So many bad things happen to the characters in the book. Gut wrenching and sad , to people who have already had sadness. Just hard to take. Wish I would have know before starting the series. I found myself fast forwarding and skipping parts because it was just too much!! Didn’t enjoy this book AT ALL. The first two books in series were more engaging but not this one .

Historia
When Amos Decker is called to South Florida to investigate a double homicide, the case appears straightforward: A federal judge and her bodyguard have been found dead, the judge’s face sporting a blindfold with two eye holes crudely cut out, a clear sign that she’d made one too many enemies over her years on the bench. What at first seems cut and dry is anything but: Not only did the judge have more enemies than Decker can count—from violent gang members, drug dealers, and smugglers to a resentful ex-husband—but the bodyguard presents additional conundrums that muddy the waters even further.

ANOTHER GREAT ONE
Revisado: 05-16-23
Loved this book. Found it to be a much more enjoyable and easy to follow book than the last installment in the Memory Man series (Walk the Wire). Amos Decker was back to his old self - unlike last book where he seemed weak. I do miss Alex being his partner a lot, but Freddie was a pretty good fill in. I love the narrators as well and think they do a great job distinguishing between characters. Hope there is another in the series just as good as this one.. Walk the Mile was trying to be too political. This was more neutral and just a good mystery. Kept us wondering until the end. I will say the one thing I did not like was the use of the F bomb so much. No need for that. I don't remember it so much at all in any of the other books.. Please stop this trend. Also I really don't understand the reasoning for writing out all the old characters.. Like Amos Decker I don't really like change.

Historia
Of the fifty-six bestsellers the “Queen of Suspense” Mary Higgins Clark published in her lifetime, Where Are the Children? was her biggest, selling millions of copies and forever transforming the genre of suspense fiction. In that story, a young California mother named Nancy Harmon was convicted of murdering her two children. Though released on a technicality, she was abandoned by her husband and became such a pariah in the media that she was forced to move across the country to Cape Cod, change her identity and appearance, and start a new life.

ANOTHER GREAT ONE
Revisado: 05-02-23
Mary Higgins Clark and Alafair Burke once again did not disappoint. The story had me hanging on to the edge of my seat the whole time. Wish the story would have been longer I hated to see it end.. A lot of times a woman narrator sounds awful doing male voices, hers are just great. Where Are The Children was my very first Mary Higgins Clark book way back when I was a young teenager, I have loved every single one of her books and glad she is still putting them out. January LaVoy is an excellent narrator - brings all the characters to life.

Historia
For years, rumors of the "Marsh Girl" have haunted Barkley Cove, a quiet town on the North Carolina coast. So in late 1969, when handsome Chase Andrews is found dead, the locals immediately suspect Kya Clark, the so-called Marsh Girl. But Kya is not what they say. Sensitive and intelligent, she has survived for years alone in the marsh that she calls home, finding friends in the gulls and lessons in the sand.

Mixed feelings
Revisado: 11-19-22
Parts of the book I would give a 5 and other parts I would give a 1. Sometimes I hated it and wanted to just get through it . Too much in depth descriptions of all the marsh insects and their “habits” for my taste. I didn’t mind the narrator when she was telling the story - but Kya’s voice was just not good - it grated on me most of the time . And same with Tate’s. I am sure she is a great narrator - just didn’t care for her depiction . I definitely didn’t hate it or want to return it - but a lot of it could have been left out .
