A really good book

This book really surprised me. I think I put it down once because the MC was a bit winey in the beginning and was annoying me but I'm glad I Picked it back up. Narrator was amazing so no complaints there. Action and progression was not disappointing at all and overall I couldn't stop listening. the only complaint I had was that I Wished MC used his baking skill more but then I got to the point where it gave pitiful experience so I understand. I just love a good cooking scene so that's my preference.

I'm jumping directly into book 2 after writing this.
This book won't disappoint you 😉

I'm currently writing this review at chapter 14 because I'm not sure if I'll finish this book. I like that it's a group setting with friends surviving the rpg Apocalypse but it's just giving tabletop D&D rpg and I don't really like that and the progression is too slow to me. I'll write another review if I end up finishing the book.

Good enough series-I wrote this review after listening to all 3 books

My major dislike for this series is that the MC doesn't grow much or at all in his leadership skills, and that he's not very knowledgeable even though he listens to rpg books (literally was listening to The Land) before the system started. I like the fact that there are 3 different paths to choose from and not just mana like other books and the MCs journey to his family was enjoyable for the most part. Even though the apocalypse was only a couple weeks for the entire series it didn't seem rushed but I would have preferred a longer duration. I think giving the characters more progression and a longer book overall would have made the series better. To me most of the MCs progression went towards his dog instead, while that would have been okay if he was going the Beast Tamer route but it doesn't seem that way.

OK, so I don't particularly enjoy books where the MC is a child because they're usually very naive and make very stupid decisions. And that annoys me very much since I can't blame them because they are a child. And this MC definitely fits that description. 🙄

The saving grace is that the story skips several years and he seems to get a bit smarter as the books goes on but still can't expect much from a sheltered kid with a weak constitution. The fact that he calls a boy he LITERALLY just met HOURS ago his bestfriend 🤦‍♀️

The plot is a good underdog story where MC goes from being able to be killed by a weak rat to holding a decent fight against stronger foes. Still not OP in this first book which is good development for rest of the series. I would recommend this series if you like weak to strong MCs but be warned, this MC will have you rolling your eyes and cursing his intelligence and upbringing. His parents really should have taught him more, especially because of his condition.

I would have rated this higher if he had a bit more common sense.

Definitely one of my favorite series

Primal Hunter is truly an incredible story. The fact that the MC is OP but not too OP is a great addition that some other books fail to incorporate. Also I'm grateful that the MC isn't someone who just blindly follows along and is 'too good' to the point that he sacrifice himself for others but also isn't a total ducebag.(Even though the MC is humurously slow at times) The concept of sacrificing yourself for strangers is rather idiotic to me, especially if said person isn't even worth it.

My only wish is for the next book and audible to publish ASAP!

I think the book was pretty good for a fantasy rpg. I don't agree with comments about Danielle being annoying and unnecessary because she was kinda funny and cute to me and the 'nyahs' don't bother me at all. I don't have a thing for cat girls so idk what the issue is. I'm looking forward to the rest of the series.

Overall its a good book

The main character is a bad ass, strong female that doesn't like to take shit from anyone, not even the strong Demi Gods. Even though some of her actions can be seen as stupid sometimes I still enjoyed listening to this book and will definitely get the rest of the series.

it was a good story. definitely frustrating at times but that also adds to the enjoyment of the book. I would recommend this book if you enjoy RPG books.
