Historia
FBI Agent Jo Pullinger arrives in Seattle, Washington. She is grateful to leave behind her old life. One that involved having a transplant of a killer’s heart. When a wealthy family is murdered in their mansion, the daughter’s boyfriend is taken into custody. He was found at the scene of the crime, cradling the daughter’s body, with the murder weapon at his side. Jo’s instincts tell her the boyfriend is not guilty, even though, all the evidence is stacked against him.

Was this written by AI?
Revisado: 11-10-24
Story contains every bit of cliched dialogue from the average run of the mill murder mystery. The narration was wooden with little to no emotion as though it was computer generated.
The characters are dull and formulaic. The main character is an FBI agent who had a heart transplant. Not a realistic scenario. The whole story is like that. I won’t listen to anymore in this series.

Soap Opera level of awful
Revisado: 07-05-24
I loved the Four Winds by this author, so I was greatly disappointed to listen to this one. The characters are shallow and idiotic. We start with the older sister, Winnona, who is so obsessed with being overweight and gives no credit to how smart she is. She secretly envies her younger sister, Vivi Ann, who is the pretty one that their dad adores. Anyway, Vivi Ann starts dating the man Winona secretly loves. Winona has too little self-esteem to tell Vivi so of course, Vivi and Luke get engaged.
Meanwhile, stranger Dallas comes into town and get hired at their ranch. He meets Vivi at a bar, kisses her once, and the next thing you know she is falling in love with the bad boy stranger. (Did I mention soap opera?)
Everything goes downhill from there for the family. The father is a racist and doesn't like Dallas because he is half Native American, Winona doesn't like him because he caused Vivi to break up with Luke, which she secretly wanted to happen. Ugh.
Anyway, all of this causes angst among the sisters. There is a third sister, but she seems to just be there for filler for the other two to talk to, and of course she has a boring unhappy marriage. All three talk about how sisters come first and that they love each other but they definitely don't seem to like each other much. Their dad is also rather unlikeable.
Spoiler alert:
As the story progresses, Dallas gets into trouble and Vivi gets really angry with Winnona, the towns "best lawyer" for not defending him even though she is not a criminal defense attorney. Anyone who know anything, would understand that you can't just be a criminal lawyer. The aftermath of it leads to Vivi not forgiving Winona and the whole thing just become so stupid I have decided to return this book. I can pretty much guess the rest of it anyway.
I am so disappointed. I was hoping I had found another great author to listen to. I will give her books one more try but this one not very good.
As for the narration, every time the narrator speaks for one of the sisters she reverts to this little girl-like voice and it's the same for all three characters.

Boring first half but then improves
Revisado: 01-17-24
The first four hours of the book are highly repetitive and almost nothing happens. The main character just goes on and on about having lost her son Daniel and blaming her ex-mother-in-law for his death. That is absolutely a tragedy but the way its belabored before anything really start to happen in the story is a bit much. I hit the 30 seconds fast forward option a number of times.
Once the actual story gets going, its not bad but I almost gave up before I got there.
Narration is decent.

Historia
UrbanMyth: It was lauded as an alternative to the performative, show-your-best-self platforms—an anonymous discussion board grouped by zip code. The residents of Manhattan’s exclusive Upper East Side disclosed it all, things they would never share with their friends or their spouses: secret bank accounts, steamy affairs, tidbits of juicy gossip. So when a “hacktivist” group breaks into the forum and exposes the real identity of each poster, the repercussions echo down Park Avenue with a force that none could have anticipated.

Not a single likeable character
Revisado: 01-08-24
I barely got through it. The characters are awful. Heather is a helicopter mom that is very annoying as she tries to manage her daughters life. The other main characters are rich snobby people with no moral code.
It's all payron place drama and a thin plot. Don't waste your credit.

I can't finish it-it is awful
Revisado: 07-10-23
I barely made it past the first couple of hours. This is not what I expected from this author. The writing is bad, the plot is not well done and the main character is just so over the top ridicules. Unfortunately, I bought it on sale without using a credit so I can't return this title. I know some people like it but I find don't find it at all worth listening to.

Historia
For most of the last hundred years, Biloxi was known for its beaches, resorts, and seafood industry. But it had a darker side. It was also notorious for corruption and vice, everything from gambling, prostitution, bootleg liquor, and drugs to contract killings. The vice was controlled by small cabal of mobsters, many of them rumored to be members of the Dixie Mafia.

I tried but just can’t continue listening to this one. It is very slow paced and is more a lecture than a story. No real character development either. The court cases are painfully slow. I’m returning it
