Historia
Emmeline lives on a remote island with her father, who teaches her about the natural world through her senses. What he won’t explain are the mysterious scents stored in glass bottles that line the walls of their cabin, or the origin of the machine that creates them. As Emmeline grows, however, so too does her curiosity, until one day the unforeseen happens, and Emmeline is vaulted out into the real world—a place of love, betrayal, ambition, and revenge. To understand her past, Emmeline must unlock the clues to her identity.

Truly Entertaining!
Revisado: 07-19-22
Not only did I like the characters and storyline, I enjoyed listening to the narrator (who can easily make or break an audio book). The southern accents and cadence truly brought this book alive.

Historia
More than 15 years after the events of The Handmaid's Tale, the theocratic regime of the Republic of Gilead maintains its grip on power, but there are signs it is beginning to rot from within. At this crucial moment, the lives of three radically different women converge, with potentially explosive results. Two have grown up as part of the first generation to come of age in the new order. The testimonies of these two young women are joined by a third: Aunt Lydia. Her complex past and uncertain future unfold in surprising and pivotal ways.

A story worth listening to
Revisado: 07-09-20
I just wanted to send a message to Margaret Atwood. Thank you for writing this, as it answer so many questions left over from The Handmaid’s Tale.
Over and above that, this is a very entertaining story and I was enthralled, especially when told from Aunt Lydia‘s viewpoint.

Loved every minute, every word, every inflection...
Revisado: 01-20-19
Suzanne Crowley must have known I would be fascinated by the rich mental pictures and fascinating storyline. History, wonder, intrigue and Sexual innuendo without the sex —what a treat!! A great book and an awesome listen.
Unfortunately whoever wrote the description was wrong in that the inserted reafings of the journal were not in Katherine’s voice, but that of Grace. You’ll understand once you start listening. And listen you should!
Suzanne Crowley, wherever you are, thank you for a great and entertaining story! And also Sarah Coomes...You performed the parts magnificently. Your voice inflections were spot on. Thank you, Ladies!

Continuation of Matched… and a blue pill
Revisado: 04-22-16
Continuation of "Matched", I'm still waiting to see what will happen with Cassia and Ky. Still a little one dimensional, now the story reminds me of the "Delirium" series. Young people fighting against the government.
Cassia and Ky find each other, but somehow don't trust each other.
A lot of death. A lot of weird government control of the masses. And we finally found out what the blue pill does… it slows you down.

A little Hunger Games, a little Romeo and Juliet
Revisado: 04-22-16
This story reminds me a little bit of Hunger Games with the segregated cities. It was a little one dimensional sometimes. But I couldn't stop listening, waiting to see what would happen to Cassia and Ky. Xander is the nice guy next door.
I hope the future would never turn out like this: beige and unemotional for the masses. Green, blue and red pills for everyone!
The narrator, Kate Simses, did a great job!

Good clean fun
Revisado: 04-22-16
First, the narrator, Janene Jorgensen, really added a lot to the story. Great intonation. pronunciation, and she brought the period to life. She especially brought the main character to life.
The story kept you going, waiting to see what was coming next. It's a "clean" story but with just enough sexual angst. May, the heroine, was a naive woman, yet responsible, and trying to be "modern". Radford is a man, what can I say? Not wanting to appear weak, he sometimes comes across as obtuse. But I give it to him for at least searching for the truth regarding May's family.
Overall, it was fun.

Some stories have a way of gentling you into them, some thrust you in and it takes a minute to wrap your head around it. Maybe it was just me, but it took a minute to orient myself at the beginning of this one.
Overall Yellowstone Heart Song delivered and it kept my interest throughout. I especially liked the very end. You'll see...

Historia
Xenocide is the third installment of the Ender series. On Lusitania, Ender found a world where humans and pequeninos and the Hive Queen could all live together; where three very different intelligent species could find common ground at last. Or so he thought. But Lusitania also harbors the descolada, a virus which kills all humans it infects, but which the pequeninos require in order to transform into adults.

Surprised again... a real page turner!
Revisado: 06-25-15
It is a fault of mine that once I read a great book by a great author, I almost can't believe that the next book in the series will be as good as the previous one. However, Orson Scott Card delivers again. Xenocide continues the story between Ender Wiggin and the piggies on Lusitania. I enjoyed every sentence and hope that the next book in line is as good.
I have no quarrels with the narrators, they all did an excellent job. Really, a good narrator(s) only make the story more enjoyable.
