Historia
More than 3,000 years have passed since the first events recorded in Dune. Only one link survives with those tumultuous times: the grotesque figure of Leto Atreides, son of the prophet Paul Muad'Dib, and now the virtually immortal God Emperor of Dune. He alone understands the future, and he knows with a terrible certainty that the evolution of his race is at an end unless he can breed new qualities into his species.

An intellectual masterpiece
Revisado: 02-17-22
I found much more satisfaction in this book than the previous two otherwise I loved all three. I think the authors satire and peeling back out of all of our social and cultural and religious aspects of humankind are looked at in a very interesting globe of this futuristic story playing bear our humanity. Imagination than it took to write this book and include all the intellectual cultural insights in retrospect seems beyond possible to me. I feel like I have to read it again to capture it all. The movie it was recently released does no justice to this masterpiece. I would love to see a long drawn out series and the actual form of movies of this book but it would have to be very lengthy and capture all the aspects of the books and do it justice. If you read this book I hope you really enjoy it

Frank we need the ending to the book now. It has to go to publishing
Revisado: 12-29-21
The performance was good but I got confused sometimes. I liked book one better. More voiced dialog with consistent narrator. I loved the story and descriptive skills of the writer. Unlike some reviews I thought this book too short. I like the drawn out story line n setting up the story. My big mayor dislike is the same as book one. You on this long journey through an extremely detailed story telling just to get to a unfulfilled end. It ends abruptly. The main part of the story you were waiting to hear happens so fast n mostly with out you being present with things unsolved. Same as Dune 1. Great story. Unfulfilling ending. It is as if he spend years writing the book then the publisher said I need the end now we have to go to publishing or you lose the contract and he wrote a hasty ending in days. I Still love the series and highly recommend this sci-fy classic. I plan to move on to the next book.

Here is the novel that will be forever considered a triumph of the imagination. Set on the desert planet Arrakis, Dune is the story of the boy Paul Atreides, who would become the mysterious man known as Maud'dib. He would avenge the traitorous plot against his noble family and would bring to fruition humankind's most ancient and unattainable dream.

The greAt dune
Revisado: 12-17-21
So I have finally read /listen to the great sci-fi story of dune. The writer really took me on a journey painting a picture of the great planet that contains the dunes in the sand worms in the fremine. I felt like I could picture of the whole scene cannot wait to see the movie versions. As great a storyline and imagination of the story I was disappointed in how quickly the story ended and seem to skip large portions of of the story. The writer took a long time building up to great climaxes but then seem to gloss over the actual Great events that I was waiting to see. Particularly the details of love and war in the story. It felt like it came to a very abrupt end denying me some satisfaction of where the long journey seem to have taken me too. That all being said I still love the story and can’t wait for the next book

Good history casually confusing
Revisado: 08-20-20
Overall it was really well done with good history and background it and tie into how it affected Game of Thrones. Would’ve liked a little more direct connection to Game of Thrones. Got a little confusing on the timeline and which king they were talking about got a little confusing at some points and a little boring as many of the facts were the same or lengthy

Cats toy with their pray
Revisado: 03-06-20
This was much more exciting n served to fill in many more blanks. The writer still plays with my desires to have story go the way I want it to. He leads me down a path that I’m excited to see some connection, meeting, conclusion, revenge, justice, teaming up, satisfaction, the way I wanted it to play out in my head only to have my path cutoff. Just like a cat a cat playing with a mouse allowing it to think it is getting away and then pounce on it and carry it back and do it and over again. He toys with hopes just the same. So excited for the next. Cliff hangers as normal. Warning books 4 & 5 both kind of start in the same point and trail two different trails with interconnected happenings so do not be confused n look closely for the common connections. Just like life while carry out our life in our journey of life others are following their own journey and sometime our paths cross, some times we walk with them for awhile, and sometimes they never merge or reconnect. But story goes on. Thank you GR Martin for story.

Few books have captivated the imagination and won the devotion and praise of readers and critics everywhere as has George R. R. Martin’s monumental epic cycle of high fantasy that began with A Game of Thrones. Now, in A Feast for Crows, Martin delivers the long-awaited fourth book of his landmark series, as a kingdom torn asunder finds itself at last on the brink of peace . . . only to be launched on an even more terrifying course of destruction.

Another great GOT book
Revisado: 02-20-20
The writer plays with my mind. It is like he has total control. He lead you to one of the things that you want and leads you to believe that he’s going to let it occur but then diverts and changes it all up leaving your hopes dashed against the rocks but it’s true life and when you reflect on what he’s written you realize it’s just what life is like. It’s not a fairytaleBut just a good storyline

Exciting n suspenseful with unexpected twists
Revisado: 06-29-19
The story is so intriguing. I could not put it down. Love the way the writer can create the images in my mind. The author toys with my hopes, wishes and despair. I find myself hoping for reunions, victories, n revenge only to find another twist. My emotions tied with the characters n their journey waiting with great exception of pieces to come back together. Mysteries created in small pieces that I try to put together like a jigsaw puzzle just to find this piece fits but this does. Piece by piece fitting until the image starts to take shape n all the smaller groups of fitted pieces become one image together. Wish the reader was male n female 2 in place of one. This book had a rather abrupt. End.

This book was so uplifting on a regular basis. It helped me see God in places n times he seemed distance. Nice devotional to encourage and see one through what may seem to be a wilderness. Author has insightful and interesting ways to bring the biblical point. Rock stead doctrine. Cool personal stories. A thinker.

Winter is coming. Such is the stern motto of House Stark, the northernmost of the fiefdoms that owe allegiance to King Robert Baratheon in far-off King's Landing. There Eddard Stark of Winterfell rules in Robert's name. Far to the north, behind the towering Wall, lie savage Wildings and worse - unnatural things relegated to myth during the centuries-long summer, but proving all too real and all too deadly in the turning of the season. Yet a more immediate threat lurks to the south, where Jon Arryn, the Hand of the King, has died under mysterious circumstances....
